TAK OUT OF JENNINGS FIGHT

His right hand went after he caught a sparring partner on top of the head in sparring.
Spoke to him this afternoon. Very disappointed but said it's just not right, even after he had an injection in it. Nothing broken but the joint is inflamed and specialist said it will be okay in about three weeks as long as he doesn't use it.
Gutted for him and Jennings and us lot as it's a good little fight.
Tak is hoping he can defend his title on the undercard of Calzaghe's fight in October.

Lets hope Jennings has a little tune up and its him who fights Tak in October.

Wasn't Ross Minter first mooted to be facing Takaloo ? I saw that on the schedules, and was quite surprised as it was a big step up for Ross, then a few weeks later I noticed that Jennings had replaced him.
Why not put Jennings and Minter in together ?

I'd like to see that one come off, but i don't know if Minter has been in full training

Or maybe Tak couldn't make the weight...

He has no trouble with the weight Steve... His hand is knackered. He's had trouble with his right hand since he was an amateur. Even broke it against Rosa Gomez. He'd been unable to use it properly for about three weeks and after resting it he hurt it again in sparring. He even saw the same specialist who sorts out Calzaghe's hands.
It's a legit injury and he wasn't willing to take on Jennings if he couldn't use his right hand properly – makes sense to me.

Minter is injured, cut during the Cottier fight. That was the reason he pulled out of the Tak fight

I'm gutted, it was one of the reasons I bought a ticket!
