Former World Welterweight Boxing Champion Don Jordan was one of Boxings many 'colourfull characters'. He was born in the Dominican Republic were as a youth was employed as an asassin and claimed to have killed countless people for money, some with poison darts others by less 'clinical' means. He even admitted to burning a man to death.

He spent time in jail were he was often brutally 'stomped' as he called it by other inmates. Later he became a professional Boxer and won the World Welterweight Championsgip from tough Virgil Akins. Jordan claimed winning the title was the worst thing he ever did but he enjoyed losing it to the ill fated Benny 'Kid' Paret a fight the mob controlled Jordan claimed he 'wore the cuffs in'. He olso claimed he boxed to instructions against Jimmy Carter a few years earlier amongst others.

Anyone here have any views on Geronimo?

Ive never seen any video of Jordan . I think from what Ive read of him was that he was a solid boxer/puncher good jab etc. def not an all time great.
The story of his life is incredible and it was amazing that he talked about it so matter of factly.
An assasin while just a kid in his native Dominican Republic.
He was murdered I believe by would be robbers while working on the docks in Calif.
I never heard if his attackers were caught.

those claims are not true- they appeared in Peter Heller's book but even Heller himself states that there is no truth to those statements. JOrdan was senile when the interview was conducted. He spent most of his later days rambling about anything. He was not from the Dom. Rep. did not speak spanish and was not a killer
