The law is shit and totally unfair, how can they possibly justify him serving only 16 weeks?! Livingstone i didn't hear of those misdemeanours inside either, how come he is being let out after behaving like that? And how come he got sent to an open nick so soon, it's baffling.

Barerra v Hamed. I don't think I've enjoyed any fight more than that one. Barerra oozed class, Hamed was shitscared, Barerra took him to pieces.

where did you find about about him going mental and smashing the place up? Personally I think that 4 months inside any prison establishment is a big deal and he wouldn't have been let out if the authorities hadn't deemed it the right decision. Would like to see some pictures of him now though. Is he still the fatster tht he was when he went in?

Despicable. Look at the consequences of what he did.

I also was never more overjoyed than when Barrera schooled him. Never a more classless, graceless and tactless winner I've ever come across. He also beat a lot of my fave fighters, like Paul Ingle & Vuyani Bungu. So to see him get thoroughly outboxed was a real treat.

I think its fine that he was released on tag. There are currently about 70,000 offenders in custody and the priority has to be dangerous offenders who's risk of harm to the public is medium to high i.e. it is highly likely and almost imminent from release that they will cause serious harm to another person. Naz committed a crime and has spent four months in prison, a few more months will make little difference in relative terms. Ultimately, his risk of re-offending and risk of harm to the public is probably low in that unlike some persistant driving offenders I doubt he will actually jump in a car illegally on being released and put his foot down. Without doubt he was a nob and he has partially paid his price. However, you have to put into perspective with the criminal justice system as a whole and his punishment has been proportionate and in compariosn to some cases more severe, in that I have known a number of cases that have resulted in a Community penalty rather than custody.

Do we know if the victim is going after Naz for damages ? You'd think this would be a straight forward enough case (what with Naz being found guilty of the crime already) for the victim to claim a whopping amount of compensation.

Does anyone know ?

I think the main problem with the sentencing in this country is typified by the Naz Hamed case; sentenced for 15 months, and he does 16 weeks. Why not just pass a 16 week sentence in the first place ?

We regularly see sentences given, and we know that the convict won't see it through.

Most people would like to see some common sense, clarity and consistency applied.

I hope the guy that Naz left for dead takes him to the fxxking cleaners, financially speaking. How can an apparently devoutly religious person like Hamed just drive off and leave somebody in that state ?

perhaps he was let out because he posed no danger to anyone making their living from professional boxing

The guy is a nasty piece of work and he treats everyone with contempt. The most unpleasant person I've ever come across in boxing. Had the most extraordinary talent ever, but blew it. Evans' article was spot-on.

How can you treat him any other way? I've never met anyone who has nice things to say about him.

I couldn't believe his mouth when he was firing criticism at Colin Hart and Barry McGuigan. The cheek to call out a near 40 year old - and Barry especially criticism was constructive.
