I love it. Both fights.

I never really thought either fight lived up to the hype but often that is the case with your mege fights. The first fight had a lot of clinching and holding and the second fight was good if you were for Leonard as he was able to beat Duran to the punch. Duran really did'nt do all that much in the second fight and in my estimation hardly won a round although the judges had it close. I know I have seen by far better fights than either one of these.

Leonard ranks his fights with Hagler and Hearns to be more of a success in his career over the fights with Duran. The "No Mas" was just humiliating...for Duran.

On youtube there are clips of round 2 of the first fight - when Duran rocked Leonard and got him into serious trouble - and of round 7 of the second - when Leonard humiliated Duran with a show that looks like Ali-squared. What is so great about these fights is how Duran and Leaonard psyched is other out - Duran Leonard in the first fight, Leonard Duran in the return.

No it didn't, and the clinching that was done was being done by Leonard to save his ass from the beating he was taking. You sound like Dundee and all his complaints. There is difference between clinching and "in fighting".

Leonard lost a close decsision that could have just as easily gone in his favor and probably should have. The judges were swayed by the fact that Duran was able to get Leonard to fight his type of fight, but this thread is not about who should have gotten the decsision so we will just have to disagree on that. Duran was holding the entire fight like he did in a lot of his fights. That should have been crystal clear. Infighting is what Joe Louis used to do, throw clean crisp short hard shots. Duran grabbed and held the entire fight. For his part Leonard went along with it somewhat to make for a sloppy not that great of a fight.

It's clear that you have a bias against certain fighters. The pattern seems to be anyone who brutually knocks out Hearns are fighters you don't like.

So who brutally KO'd Hearns? Nobody on this thread. So your hypothesis is incorrect. Imagine that....

Holding the entire fight?.That's garbage.It was actually Leonard doing most of the holding because he was getting torn up by Duran's combinations.

Duran was possibly the best infighter of all-time.

I agree... though I think you can see that Duran wasnt 'right' from the start of the second bout... my three favourite fights of the 80s are Duran vs Leonard 1, Pryor vs Arguello 1 and Chacon vs Limon 4... for sheer heart and down and dirty action I'd pick the Chacon vs Limon fight, while the Duran and Pryor fights have the more class... I can never make my mind up what fight I like best between Duran vs Leonard 1 and Pryorr vs Arguello 1....

But then again theres Gomez vs Pintor!... another classic!!!...
