I think Woods could take Jones now, if they could get him over here I'd certainly like to go and see it.

I would aswell, I know Ajamu wasn't much - but still Jones was better than I thought he would be. Its certainly more interesting than if Woods was directly his comeback opponent.

Of course Clinton could win, but I would still back Jones. Just think his style is made for Jones to look good against. Jones will pierce holes in the defence and Woods can get hurt. I know Jones' power has regressed alot, but Glengoffe isn't a huge puncher either.

With Roy he is so much a psychological fighter. Some of the comments he brings up a very interesting. Saying the Tarver would have given a prime Jones trouble is something that Jones normally wouldn't admit to - but he has. I do wonder if Tarver got to Jones a bit mentally aswell as physically (even before their first meeting). Jones knows he can beat Woods and compared once to a lada.

Prime Jones would have cleaned Tarver's clock that was just something Jones said to save admitting the fact he was not what he once was.

Jones ducked Tarver, aided by the IBF. He went out of his way not to fight the guy. Tried to sign his as a pro with Square Ring (what would the hcance be of a fight then?). Asked the IBF to make Tarver fight ANOTHER elim, after WINNING his elim!

Thanks for pointing that out. You were far too subtle for me.

Colme on you seriously think a Tarver who struggled to beat Glen Johnson would have beaten a prime Jones. Not only that but he just got near shutout by a guy moving up 2 weights, a guy who Jones beat handily years before at his correct weight.

Prime Jones would have beaten Tarver easily.

Even a totally weight drained Jones beat Tarver in their first fight, that was nothing like the prime Jones in there that night.

Jones would have bitchslapped tarver had they met a year earlier.

Jones' power has 'regressed' as you say, because he is terrified to commit to his punches since Tarver gave him a slapping when he was winding up with a big shot. Since then I've not seen jones throw a shot in anger.

If they fight, Woods should stop him unless he shows too much respect.
