Is there a list of names from the 40's or 50's

I'm trying to locate a guy who graduated from a high school in Iowa in 1946. The information I have is he did some boxing while in high school. After graduation he went to Michigan...maybe the Detroit area. A classmate of his believes he continued boxing. Is there a site that would list amateur and/or professional boxers from the late 40's and thru the 50's and possibly have any updated information on them? I'm trying to locate a younger sister of his for a class reunion but in the process I have heard really positive comments about him when he was in school.....as a basketball player, boxer and as a person in general.

This site does, though it's hard to help you if you don't give a name.

Sure thing!! I was hesitant about posting his name...kind of wanted to test the water first. His name is Estel S. Lewis....he graduated in '46 from high school in Oskaloosa, Iowa. His younger sister or half-sister was in my class of '57. I sure appreciate any help or leads. Thanks!

Might be helpful...
I've never heard of the man you mentioned and his name is not in the database and we have a big percentage of fighters from that era in the database! If he was a professional fighter then I would about bet money that he would be mentioned at some time in Ring magazine from the time. Ring has several correspondents from all around the world and from several U.S. states which had monthly, up-to-date doings...especially in the Detroit area...Detroit Free Press would be another good source, but if you are just trying to get ahold of him to try to get in tough with his sister then you probably would not be wanting to put in the time that it would take to go through that kind of material.
classmates.com is probably your best bet!
