The belt was made vacant by WBC No. 1 Junior Witter.

Great opportunity for Mutley, and fair play to him for taking the chance when Cook wouldn't. I think that speaks volumes about their respective attitudes.

Should be a decent fight as well: we all know how Lauri has managed against the two world-class 140lb'ers that Britain has produced in recent years, so it'll be interesting to see how Mutley does. He's had the big build up by the Midlanders on the boxing forums, and he looked tremendous at times in the Anderson fight. If he can do the business against Lauri, then it justifies the talk that many posters talked for him. I hope he does, because he was in my British fight of the year, and if that's a weightclass above his best weight, as he says, I'd damn sure like to see him at his best weight.

So Cook has decided to remain in the wilderness. Ah well.
Mutley has a great chance hear. Hope his confidence is not to badly shaken after the Anderson collapse. I would make this an even fight. I do kind of expect Mutley to win. Hope he does. Can't wait for his next charisma laiden, fast witted and highly insightful post fight interview.

I like Mutley, i think hes got a nice style and enjoy watching him box.

Pleased for Mutley and it's good to see him able to get right back into the mix - I believe he'll have enough to break down Lauri.

I hope he decides to turn up for distance this time and not just the first 6 rounds...if he does this he will win

The BBBofC wouldn't allow the fight as they thought he wouldn't make the weight. It was mainly due to the fact he had not competed at light-Welter for a while. Strange then they allowed Bami who had previously been regarded as a welter himself.
Anyway Bami-Muttley looks like a natural match-up to me.
