Boxing and wrestling are two totaly different sports. Its what sperates the men from the girls. It just kills me when people say wrestling is a tougher sport than boxing. Are you JOKING!!? Wrestlers dont have to near asmuch work as boxer. Physicaly or mentally. Then when you explain to a wrestler Why boxing is the hardest sport then they say ....well a wrestler can beat a boxer in a street fight any day!.. they say this thinking they will get a boxer to the ground and a boxer cant do a thing. Well dont they think that a boxer has just as good as chance of getting them to the ground as they do. I mean a boxer is not going to just stand thier and let them tackle him. he is going to move out of the way and counter attack. If you ask me boxing is a much more better sport for a man then wrestling because in wresting you try to pin the man and get himm closer to you But in boxing you brutalize the other man with skills, power and speed keeping them away.

WRESTLING / BOXING

APPLES AND ORANGES. THEY CAN'T BE COMPARED. WHEN "BUTTERBEAN" FOUGHT A WRESTLER NAMED "BART GUNN" IN A BOXING MATCH WITH GLOVES, GUNN WAS DESTROYED IN 36 SECONDS. HE WAS DOWN TWICE. THAT'S TWO (2) STANDING 8 COUNTS. SO THAT MEANS HE WAS TAKEN OUT IN 21 SECONDS OF ACTUAL FIGHTING TIME. GUNN WAS A BIG, STRONG, POWERFUL ATHLETE BUT HE NEVER SAW WHAT HIT HIM. THE DIFFERANCE WAS HAND SPEED. BOXERS DON'T GET SLAMMED TO THE CANVAS NIGHT AFTER NIGHT. THEY DON'T TAKE FALLS OFF LADDERS, GET WHACKED WITH CHAIRS AND GET THROWN THROUGH ANNOUNCERS DESKS. UNDERNEATH ALL THAT CIRCUS SIDESHOW CLOWN "B---S---T" THERE IS SERIOUS BUSINESS. CHECK OUT SOME OF THE WRESTLING SITES AND SEE THE LIST OF INJURIES THAT MANY WESTLERS HAVE HAD IN THIER CAREERS. THESE GUYS ARE TOUGH IN THIER OWN RIGHT AND DON'T THINK THEY ARENT. THEY ARE AN ENTIERELY DIFFERANT KIND OF ATHLETE. Dan Coli

i think Mr. Coli makes a very good point, although wrestlers have all of the falls pre arranged the physical reqiuments to perform these acts are extreamly high. Although i belive that boxing needs more mental prep. i belive that wrestlers meet phyical demand to the same extend as boxers.

Just my opinion

fake wrestlers would be destroyed by only half-decent pro boxers. real wrestlers will mess up the pro boxers tho.

Please guys, let's not confuse the world of Fake 'Rassl'n with that of real amature wrestling (Folk, Free, or Greco-Roman) The crap on TV is not the same as the true athletes in the Olympics.

Can we compare Boxing and wrestling? Well...in the ancient olympics there was not much distinction between the two. Both involved grabbing, throwing, and punching.

Boxer139: You are a little misunderstood about wrestlers, they have hundreds of different holds they don't just "tackle" their opponet.

Both sports use strength, speed, balance, and technique to defeat an opponent. Which one is harder: After boxing a few rounds my arms, shoulders, and lungs are killing me. However, after a full six minute wrestling match my whole body hurts.
