...that Vazquez v Gonzalez was going to be the fight of the night. What a superb, dramatic battle. Vazquez looked like he was going to be wiped out, but he kept at it with those steady, bruising shots to overcome 2 knockdowns, score 2 of his own and win via stoppage.

Even though it was great, there will be no rematch, because Gonzalez got battered.

Rafael Marquez should soon be challenging Vazquez, maybe next year.

That would be an even better fight, potentially.

Vasquez reminded me of JCC. Very under appreciated in Mexico, but hes done some impressive stuff at 122 - Larios and now Gonzalez

Great fight. Totally absorbing.

I never thought Vasquez was going to be wiped but I thought he was heading for a points defeat. I couldn’t see a way through the greater reach of Gonzalez.

But as soon as Israel got his first knockdown the tide turned & it was just a question of time before the end came. Gonzalez was never going to hear the final bell despite his big points lead.

Good corner retirement.

Maybe there will be a rematch in a couple of years when Gonzalez is a bit stronger, physically & mentally. He showed a lot of good qualities in this fight.

Yeah that was a very classy move by Oscar Suarez, jumping in and saving Gonzalez when he really needed it.

I think all too many corners would have let that fight go to the bitter end, hoping that their man, having scored two knockdowns already, might get lucky one more time.

Oscar showed himself to be a cut above right there.

I was really impressed with Gonzalez vs Johnson and I actually thought he would win the fight.... so I was screeming at him to survive. In the end though, Vasquez was just that too mature. Gonzalez will come again.

Good pull out for the corner, I think there could have been real perminant damage to Gonzales had the corner been brave and thought he had 6 minutes to survive.

It was a good bill 3 proper world titles be defended, as opposed to the usual WBU dross served up in UK

Never saw this one coming, my mouth is watering already. Would slightly back Marquez with his power as Vazquez wouldn't be rising so quickly after taking one of his flush punches.
