yeah, it was around 2002. it affected his training for the awful fight with Guillermo Jones.


props to Johnny. he's had a fine career. Wins over Thompson, Dominguez & Sellers - as well as longevity - redeemed him from the fights with Warring and Deleon. I've really enjoyed seeing Johnny at his best, using a strange but refined approach to the art of hitting and not getting hit (or maybe, not getting hit and only then hitting.)

I hope Witter can carry on bedevilling opponents with his own quirly but clever style, & carry on the torch.


I feel bad that Nelson-Enzo isn't happening.

But who would turn down Macca-Hobson II?

I don't mind seeing Hobson v Macca II, first one was a great fight , both showed great heart to get to the end of 12 rounds. I did think that Macca deserved the win, and i'd pick him to win again in the rematch.

As for Nelson, if he doesn't fight again then it will be a shame, but he can walk away with his head held high, I know he's not everyones favourite because of the Warring and De Leon fights, and also because of his hit and not get hit style.
I've always been a fan of his though, i like the way he's stuck at it, even after all the critisism and remember he lost 5 of his first 11 fights as well. That shows determination and desire to prove people wrong.
He proved himself the top cruiser in britain in the early 90's before going to Germany to win the Euro title.
After losing to Warring and getting stopped in his next fight by Ekassi, he looked like becoming a journyman type , but again he proved everyone wrong again winning the British and Euro titles , and then the WBO and making 13 defenses.

Because i wanted to see Macca -Nelson.

Hobson aught to get a good crack at Mac, he should have won last time and this time he has time to prepair. Common Mark expose another warren hype job.

I thought Hobbo nicked it by one round myself, it was a close affair for sure.

I was very impressed with Enzo though, he showed a lot of grit in the first fight, and i'm thinking he may improve even more on the first encounter.
