Defends what?? I thought his title was in limbo until he steps in with the interim holder or whatever the hell he's called.
Good fight though, and a perfect comeback for Scott.

Cooks got some nice bodyshots. He needs to go to Scotts body, its a definate weakness.

if this fight happens, I'll enjoy it. Could be everything that the Brodie fight should've been.
The brilliant JM Marquez has postponed his challenge to Harrison. He wants another fight in American against Jamrix Jica, then will challenge sometime in the spring, I believe.

obvious fight for Cook to take. He was going to have a WBC eliminator on Oct 25. I bet he jumped at the chance to fight the troubled Harrison.

A very interesting matchup. An educated gamble on the part of the Cook's camp IMO. Guzman and JMM fights unmaterialised and a step down with a live opponent in Cook on his way up.
I would have thought that Harrison is too strong but with his problems who knows.

I hope this fight doesn't happen just yet actually, both haven't had good preperation. With Cook's injuries, and Harrison's problems.
Plus I want to see a potential WBO/WBC unfication bout (assume Marquez goes some other route).

Gairy St Clair & Joan Guzman were both scheduled to fight Harrison but went another route, both winning SF world titles...what's the chance of Cook dropping out and say beating Guerro for IBF...let's hope not
Seriously though, good comeback fight for Scott as throwing him in with Marquez instantly after troubled times he had no chance (not that he ever will)
But will he ever get the chance to fight again against the elite? I hope so.

A few domestic crackers on the horizon, Bennie. What with Eastman v Williams, Hatton v Witter???, and now Harrison v Cook.
Get you train pass or your car keys out, theres gonna be a lot of travelling.

Cook's choice should be a simple one. He had a WBC
eliminator that he was going to go into. But a straight, guaranteed shot at the WBO belt is a better move for him that could be more immediately rewarding.
Will be a great fight. Warren has to keep putting on fights like these or he'll be a joke; ITV aren't going to let him get away with pull out shows and pathetic fat heavyweights for main events.

But will Scott be in the right state to fight, also what about his court problems.

so, is Warren trying to sign Nicky Cook? Or is he going to let him know damn well that he isn't the 'house fighter', as with Woods-Johnson III?

I think Cook can win, but the chance of this happening imo are slim with Scott problems

isee a tougher, angrier harrison turning out for this and destroying cook.
i do think this will come off but if i was cook i would have still gone wbc route.

I think Cook has the tools to beat Harrison... add in all Harrison's recent problems and I can see Cook winning with something to spare.

Cracking domestic matchup, I would prefer Cook going for a real title, not the WBOgus but if the money is good enough and with Harrison's troubles why not.

Come on 'Cookie'!
Those body shots could sink Harrison.
Good to see Cook in a fight like this, got a bit boring watching him v that European spoiler Voronin

The chance of beating Guerrero would be, um, zero.
Cook isn't great, but it would be a good test to see which of these brit featherweights deserves the world title shot...

This fight may be coming a bit early for Cook, but he definetly has a shot. Cook has a nice variety of shots, and works the body very well, it's just whether or not he will be able to keep a rampaging Harrison off him.
Brodie was giving Harrison a bit of a pasting before the body shot caused that injury, which effectively ended the fight. I had predicted that Brodie had the style to give Harrison big problems, but we never saw what could have been the outcome due to the early injury.
cook is younger, fresher and nearing his peak, whereas Brodie was on the way down, this could be a cracking domestic scrap, and I stick my neck out and go for the upset if this happens. I like Cook to step up to the plate, something tells me he's got the goods, and Harrison has a world of problems in his personal life, and has looked increasingly vulnerable in recent fights. The template to beat him was provided by Polo, who could have had Harrison out of there if he had more dig on him.

Cook is a bit like a bigger version of Brodie. The shaved head and body punching are definitely there; if he has Brodie's variety he could well pull off the upset.

Its seems like though that Juan Manuel Marquez is not reliquishing his interim title. So perhaps, if successful, Cook will HAVE to fight Marquez in the near future.
With that in mind, I'm sure he is doing a big mistake. Scott's style is a problematic for Cook as any of the contender for the WBC title (apart from Chi). Does Cook want to overcome this, then be "rewarded" to fight Marquez.

No problem in Cook wanting to fight the best. I thoght Cook had a decent chance against the one dimensional Harrison before his personal problems, now I'd pick him in a heartbeat to win this one.

Normally I would have said this is a big step up for Cook. But given Harrison's problems, and time out of the ring, it is a great matchup for him. Cook is now 27 and this is the right time and ideal fight for him to win a world title.
