urgent - central london boxing gym

Mate of mine has just got on the blower to me, he's got a director coming over who is also an amateur boxer who has just flown into london. He wants to go and have a spar somewhere, but can't really be travelling
Anyone know of any central london gyms he could go to, can't think of one off the top of my head, most of them are some way away from the centre.
Apparently the guy doesn't want some poncy health club that has a boxing ring, he wants a proper gym where people actually train to fight where he can maybe get some sparring, more fool him I say.
I was going to maybe suggest cityboxer as they are in southwark, as that's the only place I could think of that is close enough to the centre that is an active gym.

Is everyone else having trouble with this.
What about the kronk gym in Swiss Cottage, is that still going?

If he comes down to Cityboxer i'll give him a few rounds
The only other more central gym i can think of is the 3rd space in W1 but i although i've not been i understand it's falls squarely in the wanky health club with a ring category.

Didn't think about Kronk (nearest tube is Chalk Farm). There is also the Broad Street in Shadwell but he might have a hard time finding many guys over the age of 20 to spar with.
There is also Gleason's Gym off Tower Bridge Road but sparring might be harder to get there.

Shirow, could you let me know how to get in touch with cityboxer, the silly bastards don't have any contact details on their website to actually phone them.

Yeah i work out of there doing the travel & some corporate events but i train guys too.
My number is 0207 922 1283. Is this just for a one off? If so I can let him come in and train as if it's a trial for £20. If he wants to train longer we'd have to work something out.
Cityboxer's number is 0207 620 1666. It's not on the website as that phone hardly ever gets answered so they prefer all contact by email.
6am - 9pm Mon - Fri, 10am - 3pm Sat

Gave him your number mate, apparently they are going to try Errol Christie's gymbox place, that looks to me more like a place to workout and pretend fight though, had a look at some pictures. I told him to give you a call and that you could get the yank some time there, thanks in any case, don't know whether gymbox will meet what he wants.

When I boxed there from the ealy 80's to mid 90's it always had two rings

Oh right, never realised that is where the St Pancras club was. So what was with the Kronk branding then? Is it still under the kronk banner?

In fairness it's a private members club. The only way to get in to train just the once is to take a trial which is meant to be taken with the view to joining up.
