Did he really say that? I thought he said 'is breathing'..... meaning he was responding. I will check the tape.

It was a terrible fight in many ways.... so hard. Macklin just fought til he couldn't move. Amazing heart.

It was a hard situation for any commentator to be in. I didn't mind Smith saying that, he had to keep the viewers informed.

That will be British fight of the year without a doubt. Great heart from both, I am sure Macklin is ok was just exhausted in that 10th.

He did say 'is breathing' Nothing wrong with that at all, he was basically saying, 'he's ok he's breathing.'

Hatton still looks porky I thought he was in camp already.

Looks to have lost some weight though.

Is breathing....Is still breathing.....not much difference I just thought it was a bit out of order either way......does not take away the fact the bloke is a shocking commentator, the only reason he has a job is cause his dad is well up within BSKYB.

Nelson should hang his head in shame after watching what they both gave in the ring tonight.

He did not do a bad job as a commentator at all during the situation imo.

What a fight! That's one of the best I've seen in a British ring ever. Both men were fighting above and beyond the call of duty. I'm lost for words. That ninth round could be the best round ever in British boxing history. Macklin gets staggered then fights back and tags Moore! Then Moore - on the verge of getting stopped - rallies and gets Macklin going! Matthew was just spent by the tenth and Jamie got him.

I'm still hyper! What a contest!

Absolutely superb. I really meant to make a post saying that anyone who has a friend/sceptical other half/fellow inmate or someone they want to 'convert' to boxing this would be the one to do it. Pick-em fight, Lonsdale at stake, restriction on weight therefore no Williams-esque let downs.

But still surpassed all expectations. Both fighters were absolutely incredible. Massive salutes to both of them.

Moore has now relinquished the British belt, and is obviously looking at the European/world scene now. Macklin must be first in line for the belt after his performance last night.

Hope Matthew makes a full recovery.

The fight was like a novice pro against a seasoned pro. For someone we've been told was a trainee lawyer it was surprising to see him unaware of the fact that fighting at 200mph doesn't always equal pressure. From the first round on Jamie just rode it out and gracefully retained his smoothness after every bump. He had to dig deep midway but Matthew had lost a lot of his snap by that point.

At the end of the 8th(?) we saw him head back to the corner with his mouth open and his head lolling. I strongly considered the thought of pulling him out then, then heard the low tone of Billy Graham's voice and remembered the start of the previous round or so when he was gearing up Mackin to war cry. Can see why they let it go on.

Macklin was truly beaten last night. He gave his all and came up short: very, very few come back better from that. But I would like to see him recover his health and try for the title again, if possible, and if possible in a fight that even slightly favours him. Moore should go nowhere but upwards in terms of titles: Euro next mehopes. I was very impressed with his fluid defence and tight technique - excellent quality punches he was throwing.

I really don't think that Adam Smith is bad... a bit melodramatic sometimes and isn't the most insightful commentator, but his delivery is generally good.

I think people don't like him becauise he is posh.........

Great fight yes, but again allowed to carry on far too long... in the end it left a bitter taste in my mouth as I doubt Macklin will ever be the same fighter again after that... and Macklins corner was I think pretty abysmal... what happened to 'live to fight another day' ....I love boxing and hard fights ofcourse but I dont like to see a young guy possibly throw his whole career away in one fight while his corner looks blindly on...

To be honest, I don't mind a bit of his melodrama (like Potter - Williams), it's his current sound of mock emphasis from a cliche-laden script that I don't like. For me his tones generally tend not to fully gel with the ebb and flow of the fight. Too often it comes across as if it's 'in the background' if you know what I mean. Him personally means little to me, it's really only his words I care about (accents mean nothing). I do think it would be lame if he had secured the job through posh connections, though.

Had to work, but did I miss one of the best fights ever screened on Sky or did I miss seeing a young fighters career ended tragically, I hope not - After reading the comments from you guys who did see it leaves me unsure and my mind takes me back to THAT Nigel Benn fight which ended ITV boxing for years -We can only hope Macklin makes a complete recovery regardless of whether he fights again
