I hope Macklin recovers ok, that was a nasty ko... great fight but Matt should have been pulled out imo... he was too brave for his own good...

I was thinking the same thing, why wasnt he pulled out earlier... people say hindsight is a good thing but the guy was going around on rubbery legs like a drunk for at least the last two rounds... I've seen it before and Macklin will be lucky if he hasnt suffered serious injury... but even so, thats the sort of beating that ruins a fighter... sheer madness letting it go on like that, a talented young mans career probably ruined...

Can't agree. He was in the fight till the last. Moore never comfortable. Hindsight a wonderful thing. WHAT a fornicating battle. Even if Macklin never fights again (I personally feel he will) I'll always remember last night.

It was a great fight but what good will it be to Macklin if it ruins his career??.... he;s only 24!.... when a fighter is going around like a drunk thats the time to call a halt because serious injuries happen at that point...

Right - he needed to be pulled out by his corner. AT the end of the 9th he could barely stagger back because he was so tired and he had already had his second wind. It was dangerous to make him fight on. Seeing him taken out on a stretcher and how he went down is surely enough proof that he was allowed to go on to long.

He has too much heart for his own good.....

As someone said hindisght is a great thing, Macklin was right in the fight and had Moore in trouble in the 9th. He was exhausted but has been for a couple of rounds and still given as good as he got.

Macklin can recover from that and I'm sure he'll fight again. Lets not get too dramatic here there have been way worse KO's than that and people have gone on to further their careers.

It was obvious he had absolutely nothing left, his legs were rubber and he was taking full blooded shots to the head round after round. Just his amazing courage kept him going for the last 3 or so rounds, and Billy Graham should hang his head in shame.
He should have looked after Macklin in there with a humane corner retirment, but he missed his chance as he had his eye on the prize.

I've seen this happen too often, I was at near ringside for Eubank vs Watson 2 and when Macklin started staggering about I got a very bad feeling... same thing happened with Odin recently... when a man is out on his feet like that its time to call a halt, even if he's ahead or whatever... aside from the stoppage Macklins tactics seemed foolhardy, his defence was nonexistent... was he following his corners advice?... I've got enormous respect for him but really it seemed a case of a talented and brave young fighter thrown in way too deep too early in his career....

I agree... Terry Lawless/Mickey Duff would have had their fighter out of there a round or two earlier... he certainly wouldnt have come out for that last round....
