HOW COME JOHN CONTEH DIDN'T WANT TO FACE MIGUEL ANGEL CUELLO

Conteh was stripped of his WBC belt for not taking on Cuello. Never seen Cuello fight, wasn't alive at the time of the shenanigans, were there any reasons why Conteh did not fight him?
Was it by personal choice? Or something more shady..?

It was basically because he didnt like the money that he was offered for it... but also behind it was his falling out with Duff and his trainer... he wanted to try and promote himself etc... it all really backfired and cost him the title which he never got back... he was probably a victim of listenening to outside influences...

He also wanted to defend in liverpool instead of Monte Carlo.
