I am very scepticle of Hatton fighting Castillo, simply because i believe its a very dangerous fight for the Hitman. If Castillo impresses against Harris, proving his effectiveness at the weight, i think the chances of them squaring off will be even more remote. But, knowing that HBO's muscle is behind it, and all the fans talk of it, i could not really see a way out of it for Hatton (other than Castillo loosing to Harris) and was/am somewhat hopefull that it could happen. But, with Corrales now like'ly to move into the light-welter division he could offer Hatton the get-out his camp may be looking for.

Food for thought maybe, or am i just being to pessamistic?

I think Corrales will be seen as damaged goods until he gets another major win or at least an impressive win over a lesser fighter.

Corrales going over the weight doesn't validate Castillo, but it does lift Castillo's standing, lessening the disgrace.

So when Castillo grinds down Harris, JLC will have his old reputation back. That will indeed be formidable for Hatton. If all goes well for JLC, this could end up being Hattons most dangerous challenge.

If it did happen I could see Hatton sinkin left hooks into that very long body to bring Diego.s arms down then landing a big shot on that now weak chin.

Ive read that Corrales is talking about moving up to 147. Not sure his chin or power would manage there though!!

Agreed, i really dont wish to see it, but i believe its a strong possability because it can be sold to the boxing public. Corrales is a popular fighter, one impressive debute win at 140lbs = title shot.

I believe that Hatton's camp will most like'ly be looking for a get-out when the time comes to get it on with Castillo. Corrales is a named fighter and could be the solution to there eventual problem!

Perhaps Hatton will surprise me though, maybe he really is gunning for Castillo!?!?!?! After all he is a lightweight moving up!

Hatton would give him a beating and even Witter said Corrales is made for Hatton.

Exactly, a very marketable oponent that Hatton can steamroll.............. look out for this in the first part of 2007.

Any mention of Corrales name in the comming months from Hatton, Graham or Hobson will be a signal of there intentions. If they start droping Corrales name alongside the likes of Mayweather, Castillo & Cotto as possible future oponents......... know what to expect!!!

Hatton ducking Castillo? What evidence is there of that? You've just made that up. Last I read Hatton said he wanted to fight Castillo. If you're guessing that he won't fight him based on zero evidence then it has as much worth as your tip for the 3.30 at Newmarket

Corrales an easy win for anyone at 140? Based on what? A closeish defeat whilst severely weight drained against a very good world champion? Or a defeat against a future hall of famer when Castillo outweighed him? Are you seriously suggesting that if Castillo and Corrales met at 140 then it would be much more than a pick em fight? Where does this image of Chico as an easy touch come from.

Personally, personally I think Hatton will fight Castillo and beat him. And if he fought Corrales I think he will beat him too. IMO I too think Castillo will be the tougher fight for Hatton because of styles.

I think Hatton would beat Corrales quite comfortably, and by KO. If the fight is ever made, i expect the bookies will agree with me... we will see!

If Castillo v Corralles ever happen to square of again, i would put my house on a Castillo victory!

The point of my thread was i believe Hattons camp will try to avoid Castillo if he impresses against Harris. I believe they will see Corrales as a much easier option and if possible they will use him as a get-out from the Castillo fight when the time comes. Yes, its all just speculation and some way of from now, but lets just wait and see.


P.S for what its worth, i think Hatton would beat Castillo in a highly entertaining fight!
