Get ready for the great super-middlweight unification fight!

I think Kessler will wear him down for a late stoppage. Then hopefully him and Calzaghe can get to business.

I see your biased when it's Kessler but when Calzaghe unified.

Kess and Beyer probably wouldn't of unified if it wasn't for Calzaghe.

I don't know who to pick, either is not that special and are pretty average. Kessler's young so I can why most are picking him.

I can't see how Beyer beats Kessler. Kessler will win in the late rounds I reckon, he'll break Beyer up with that ramrod jab.

After seeing Kessler sparring I think he will have big difficulties beating Beyer, Kessler simply havent learned to fight southpaws. Im placing a value bet on Beyer to win.

Seriously? Has he never fought Southpaw's before?

Doesn't sound too promising for a Calzaghe fight.

He fourght a few southpaws before, but on on the same level as Beyer. His main problem is that he dont get his foot on the outside.

This is a real world class, quality clash and I can't wait for it.

Kudos to both participants but particularly Kessler who has not been a world champion that long and has already started seeking out the best in his division instead of making years of meaningless defences :TU:

My money's on Kessler. :box:

If he does struggle with the southpaw stance (and Beyer is superb at using this to his advantage) I think Kessler can resort to other methods to get past Markus.

If Kessler was a Danny Green or Librado Andrade style pressure fighter it would be worst for him, not stepping over, not cutting off the ring. But he may feel he can simply outjab the shorter Beyer, as Bika was doing.

However, if Beyer is able to land jabs, straight lefts and then spin away to the right, it will be very bad for Kessler.

Beyer is finished, I can't see much Kudos going to either figher for a Kessler win. Anyone can see Beyer is looking for a payday to finish his career... why else would be be leaving Germany? He knows that he'd lose his mandatory (against Andrade) for a lot less money than he'll get for losing to Kessler in Denmark.

Kessler must be a hot favorite you'd think, assuming he's as good as everyone says.
They do seem like two fighters heading in opposite directions.

But at least Beyer has all the experience in the world on his side. And he can punch when he sets himself too: remember he put Woodhall over three times, in Richie's hometown too. Still, that was a loooong time ago..and he's going to miss having his friendly neighbourhood referee in there you'd think.

looking forward to this one, it's on same time as the JC fight on ARD TV.

Here's the big build up...Danish style :TU:

I sense someone trying to talk down the fight in anticipation of a smacking Kessler victory that would steal the spotflight from Calzaghe's fake-superfight....

Too easy to look through.

Show evidence for your claim that Beyer is "finished". The Bika fight is no evidence, as Beyer has always been a slow starter.

Let's be frank, Beyer has seemed protected and vulnerable for quite some time now, since before even the first green fight, when he was very lucky to escape with his title after being given a savaging. He has rebounded well, but still doesn't look much more than a paper champion to my eyes. He is a decent fighter, but you would have to think that away from home without favourable referees and rinside officials, he's going to be in trouble. The scenes after the first fight with green were truly shocking, the referee was pretty much bullied into ensuring that he retained his title.

Who exactly is predicting anything but a Kessler win? I think that in itself tells you how a 35 year old Beyer is regarded. You yourself have said that Mundine is better than Beyer.
Calzaghe wasn't fighting a man who was KTFO by Glenn Catley, he also wasn't fighting a man in the twilight of his career.
Look at Beyer's recent opposition... Omar Sheika, Alberto Colajanni, Yoshinori Nishizawa, Danny Green. Beyer has had pretty weak opposition his whole career. Lacy would've battered him inside 5. :TU:

Beyer has been vulnerable for a while, I expect Kessler to dominate him but will still be a great win for Kessler and unifying the titles of course is an achievement.

I cant see anything but a Kessler win, and an impressive one at that.

Beyer's best days have been and gone.

Beyer has always blown hot and cold. The best of Beyer (not forgetting he is past his best) gets beaten by decision. Anything less than his current best gets TKO'd in the middle to late rounds.

That just shows how disrespectful you are.

Catley is a good fighter. Beyer was a 4 year pro at the time.

What is weak about Cristian Sanavia? He was a good boxer & Beyer deserved to win both. Danny Green isn't a weak fighter either. He was a monster in the first Beyer fight, where Beyer was being demolished. Yet Beyer comes back to edge him on points.

Beyer has been in the comfort zone too long. But he doesn't seem past it. Look what happened last time he ventured abroad & risked it. He dropped Richie Woodhall twice in Telford, and withstood a late fight shellacking to hang on for a very exciting WBC title win.

Also, Saurland clearly held Beyer back in favour of Sven 'Condomi' Ottke.

by Raff The Frenchman
Beyer is very much mike Ottke : he comes with great physical conditionning, his defense is tight, his punches accurate...but we all know Ottke had trouble against fighters with equal handspeed and more than all : good power...
Byron Mitchell or Brewer lost to Ottke because both had good power in both hands, but simply lacked the boxing skills and were frustrated...guys like Branco lacked the power to hurt him...
Remember Green vs Beyer, Beyer is uneasy against punchers...
Kessler by lopsided UD with 2 or 3 KDs...or Kessler TKO10
