Well, within a few days of each other both Ray Mercer and Michael Moorer have announced returns to the ring - both scheduled to fight before the years end.
With Riddick Bowe, Evander Holyfield, Oliver McCall, Henry Akinwande, Mike Tyson (in exhibitions so far) all back or coming back that leaves really Lewis (thankfully) not making a return. I have discounted the likes of Bruno, Botha, Seldon (who is back though) etc.
At least Boecrusher Smith, who is promoting this Mercer comeback, has the right idea. He wants the fighters over 35 fighting each other and not getting beaten up by youngster's not good enough to carry their jockstrap in their prime.
He's looking for Mercer vs Bowe in the future.
I would like to see a senior circuit and a senior championship - with only the senior champion eligable to fight for the title proper. I think it would make the sport a little more interesting.
