STEPHEN FOSTER JNR - Suffered his first defeat as a Pro last Saturday when he was outboxed by Derry Mathews over 12 rounds for his WBU belt. There was a serious clash of heads in the 3rd round which left Jnr with a massive haematoma that grew during the contest and spread along his forehead, leaving him in agony for the rest of the fight. Without taking any credit away from Mathews who fought very well , this injury had a massive effect on the performance of Jnr -who showed tremendous bravery in continuing - and he feels a rematch would only be fair.

JOHN MURRAY - Failed in his appeal against the Central Area boxing councils decision that rejected his claim that Stephen Wood had breached his Manager/Boxer contract. The appeal stewards in London heard the case again and upheld that Stephen Wood had always been a good manager and that their contract which runs until October 2007 must be honoured. Although Mr Wood was happy to hear the decision and keep his reputation intact ,he feels insulted that his integrity and ability to manage fighters was questioned.It is his strong belief that the communication breakdown between the boxer and manager was caused by mischievous behaviour from outside parties and is currently reviewing whether to press forward with civil actions.

The situation involving Murray and Wood cannot be good for either party. For whatever reason, it seems clear by all the court cases that Murray no longer wants to work for Wood.

Now, I'm not saying if Murray is right to think that - but it does seem clear.

So, why doesn't Wood let go of Murray but with some compensation deal for breach of contract.... cause with these problems it wouldn't surprise me if a not 100% focused Murray could slip up.
