For his fight on Saturday, Jimmy Tibbs will be in Arthur's corner acting as his trainer. Question is, which individual will be in Alex's corner at his fight, & the fight after that etc?

Arthur has had so many trainers, how can he build a strong realtionship with any of them? He does not stick with them for long periods. Granted, I know it has not been Alex's fault all the time as people like Wayne McCollough and Freddie Roach have been unavailable etc.

I also read that Arthur wanted Billy Graham to be his chief-second for the fight on Saturday. What happened there?

Anyway, Arthur's making his third defence on Saturday. Can/would he beat any of the top 'little big men' at 130lbs? Will he fight any of the world champs soon?

In my opinion his problem is he's in a deep division, with deep divisions on either side of it. He's deservedly the best Superfeather in Europe, but there's a big difference between European and world class at super feather. If he had the same ability but was it one of the less talent rich higher divisions (above 154) he'd probably go a lot further if that makes sense.

As for his chances of against the champs in the division, Barrera would obviously beat him haven't seen Valero or St Clair so can't really comment. As I said I think he's got talent but he's a slow starter and I fear his uprigtht style without great foot speed would be tailormade for the top Mexicans and Asians at that weight.

Arthur has had way too many trainer changes, and I almost feel as though he thinks he doesnt need one.

Since losing to Gomez, he has built up a nice little run and collected the EBU title on the way, but there is a definite lack of a heavy punching opponent since that Gomez defeat.

I believe he will fall when he does eventually get back in with someone who can bang a bit - Even so, Gomez is a very tidy boxer, but I still very much doubt he can win one of the big three titles.

Got to be St Clair, despite the IBF dropping AA in the rankings for not fighting an eliminator or paying a ranking fee or something

Looks like the safest bet. Best to stay away from Barrera & Guzman.

St Clair is a fighter who's willing to travel, also. He's going to South Africa again.

Could turn out like Gomez-Arthur. With St Clair being the squat pressure guy. If Gairy can go toe to toe with Corrales, for 12 rounds, he should be able to deal with Arthur.

I bloody well hope he fights over here. Because I'm missing all of his best fights.

Arthur is too miserable to pay for a full time trainer and I fear that will be his undoing. The guy wants to train himself and if he could he would treat his own cuts and tell himself how to box in between rounds I think he would do it. I've heard he is now rubbing himself in dog shit while doing his roadwork to keep up his tan. Should change his name to Alex " the blacksmith" Arthur. Cause when it's his round he makes a bolt for the door. :)

the WBC title is very tied up Pacman v Morales is a final eliminator, even though Morales has stated that it will be his last fight at superfeather.
So the winner of that provided its Pacman will face the champion Barrera.
If that doesn't come off , then the WBC in their wisdom have an interim champion Humberto Soto, he would then face Barrera.

WBA champ is Edwin Valero, who is a huge puncher, but still raw. Also he can't box in the USA, because of an old head injury, so would find it hard to get a fight sanctioned over here as well. Warren isn't going to let Arthur travel to South or Central america to challange.
Plus i can't see Warren wanting to risk Arthur against such a puncher.

Gairy St Clair the IBF champion , is defending his title in November, then providing he wins will have to meet the winner of Medina v Kelly.
I don't know what F.Warren has done to piss of the IBF, but they have dropped Arthur in their rankings. Best we can hope for is Arthur to challenge one of those next summer for that title.

WBO champ Juan Guzman, is dangerous and skillful, and he's not going to come over here and risk his title . So the chances of a match-up are slim.

Guzman was going to fight Harrison so I reckon he might come over - providede he doesn't get any better offers. The only problem with that is that he'll school Arthur.

What happened with McCullough?

He would of been great training instead of still being too stubborn to fight.

I think J-C is spot on, Arthur is a good fighter but if he tries to fight one of the main guys at super feather he's going to get beat. I am surprised Warren hasn't tried to get him in the ring with Medina as beating him usually puts you there or thereabouts where the IBF are concerned plus it's a winnable fight for him. Guzman, Barrera, Valero, Barrios, Pacquiao (both), Mosquera and even St Clair are fights I would be very surprised to see Arthur hold his own let only have a chance of winning

Maybe Arthur v Johanneson is more his level

St Clair is the forgotten man in the division, but he's skilled and battle hardened. He'd grind Arthur down, IMO.

But if they want a world title fight, St Clair seems the only option. Gairy is quite a light hitter and is the champ who's most inclined to travel for the money.

Like Guzman, however, he's been pissed around waiting to come over to the UK. Right now there is a bit of a market in South Africa for St Clair. They're not pulling out and buggering him about.

Arther v Kev Mitchel. When is this going to happen??? Would be a great domestic scrap. I think Warren would like to build both of them up and then let them face off.

Arthur can't really stay at domestic and European level much longer. He should try and get an eliminator for the IBF belt with someone like Fana or Medina, then hope he can grind out a points win against St. Clair. He has his work cut out though because super featherweight has no weak champions, really.

how far? not much further, he gets busted up facially too easily.

Guzman would destroy Arthur, as would Barrera or Pac. I think St Clair is the only option but he looks tied up well into next year.

they'd all beat arthur but alex is usually worth watching so i'd like to see
him in with these guys, he deserves a shot anyway

It's a shame Rocky Juarez doesn't have a belt at the moment because I think a fight between him and Arthur would be very entertaining, and winnable.
