I see a ridiculously pumped roided-up Briggs running out of energy and swallowing it in under 8 rounds....

Lyackovich looks like a barman, but this is not a body beautiful contest....

Will they be allowed to take the bats into the ring?

I see this fight going two ways. Briggs comes out fast and strong to get the KO in the first 4/5 rounds or Sergei wins via KO in the mid-late rounds whilst Briggs is having an asthma attack. Slight chance of decision.

My pick is Lyakhovich KO 9

More hot air from Briggs as usual, he'll need that baseball bat to beat Lyackovich, but he'd probably still find a way to lose.

The Russian is a real fighter, and Briggs........is not.

I see Lyackovich weathering an early storm and stopping a totally knackered Briggs sometime around the 8th or 9th.

Briggs is a one trick pony. If he doesn't land a big haymaker in the first 4 rounds Liakhovich will stop him.

I think Briggs, in some ways, would make a great champ. He is big and strong with lots of KO power. He has more charisma than a Wlad, Lyakhovic, Brock etc. Although he hasnt always performed in the past if he could get himself sorted and have a good run he would be a good champion till a true great comes along.

I don't like briggs at all. He's become a parody of himself. A bloated, louder, more vulgar, 50lbs heavier version old self. Just one of a big grotesques' gallery. That is what fighters do these days (esp heavyweights) when they lack attention.

He's going to be out of breath after 2 rounds, and will get absolutely throttled.

How exactly does one 'sort out' Briggs? 9 times out of 10 he will fold against decent opposition. Briggs would struggle with the level of opposition Valuev is running straight over at the moment. Can anyone else imagine the horror of Jameel DeCline being favourite in a world title fight?

You're probably right, I guess I'm just being hopeful! But my real point was that if Shannon could hold himself together then he has the looks, charisma and powerin the ring to make a good champion till someone really good comes along. I'd rather him that Lyackovich who I dont find a very exciting character.

Some people (promoters) are turning this into a sort of jingoistic war as American Heavyweights no matter how faded and shit battle to reclaim a title for the good ol' US of A. Briggs is a low grade fighter and i expect him to run out of ideas/stamina/ambition (all of above?) after about round 4 as the general consensus on this topic suggests.

Lyakovich will stay timid and make hard work of it but a knackered Briggs will eventually fold. Lyakovich TKO9

And for the other big Heavy battle....Klitschko TKO7 Brock. Brock is so poor it's untrue, Wlad's superior skills will make it look a mismatch. If Brock is touted as the future of the division then god help us.
