Palomo was a gift opponent (just look at his record!)... I'd say it was a borderline show for ITV1 irrespective of time slot.

This was Arthur's first fight on ITV1, they are obviously have intentions of him becoming one of the stars of the sports network stable. Only Williams, Skelton, Khan and Calzaghe are consistently on ITV 1. Think they are gearing Arthur for also.... So it was good that Arthur looked impressive from an ITV point of view.

St. Clair lost his title to Malcolm Klassen tonight, so assuming that no rematch happens Arthur should have a very winnable world title fight ready for early next year.

it was all about impressive tv exposure. and alex produced the goods, the tv viewers see a fighter with an excellent record and see alex hammer him.

I thought Arthur was excellent. His opponent was poor but it was a very disciplined performance. Glad he explained why he was leaning over the ropes after he floored him shortly before the stoppage. Said he was telling Frank to get out of his suit and into his corner as he was he whom was shouting at him to throw the right hand!

Good performance in and out of the ring by Arthur last night. The Spaniard was indeed game, but when you're saying that after it's over in 5 after a few KDs you have to question his class.

In saying that though, I'd say Arthur is now"above" euro level. He's been through the lot - Limmind, Doc, Burns (you may argue Johanssen warrents a shot) and has seen off Gulyakevich, probably his biggest danger - other than Nagy, who for obvious reasons is now off the map.

Looks like Bento early next year, then maybe another easy defense and he could get an eliminator.

But, as we can all see, as can Frank, St Clair/Klassen (depending on whether they have a rematch) is clearly the route to take. If Frank digs in his pocket and offers either of those to enough £££ to come over here for a voluntary, then it's well within Arthur's capabilities to take the IBF title.

Medina and Kelly are fighting the next IBF eliminator, apparently, which is pretty fornicating shocking when you think about it. What a joke the IBF is when two completely shot fighters like these two are in an eliminator for their belt when someone like Arthur isn't even in the top 10 of their ratings. The sooner the alphabets die off the better as far as I'm concerned.

He was 4th, or even 3rd, but then plumetted because he didn't fight Tommy Browne in an eliminator or something like that.

Getting title shots with these jokers is all about compliance to there dodgy rules, Medina V Kelly (presume Kevin?) is the biggest joke for a world title fight this year. Why didn't Arthur box off with Browne out of interest? It seems a pretty winnable fight from what i have seen of the Aussie.

Arthur deserves a shot at some sort of belt asap after another successful European title defence, ok Palomo was dire but Arthur can't help what he gets put in front of him. After all Gulyakevich was a good solid test.

Palomo was very safe, he was no better than any so-so domestic Super feather. If Warren has a title fight in the works, it's doubtful whether Arthur will be tested before then. Looking at Arthur's rankings he's only rated 12th by the IBF, but top 6 by the WBA, WBO and (4th by) the WBC. Amazingly enough Kevin Mitchell is actually rated 2 spots higher than Arthur by the WBO...

Sorry lads, I don't think Medina vs Kelly is a complete joke of an eliminator. Medina deserves to be there having been a long standing #1 contender before losing the title in a fight which he was winning untill the last round.

Yes, Bobby Pacquiao should be considered above Kevin Kelley for an eliminator - but if he is not available then Kelley is not unworthy. Carlos Hernandez is a former IBF champion and most observers thought he beat Bobby Pacquiao.... Kelley beat him handily, and also beat Jaun Carlos Ramirez who is okay (not great).

I'm not saying I would sanction it, and I'm not saying I can think many a fighter more deserving.... but I think the winner of this fight will win the title, and I'm not sure who will win this fight. I don't think anyone can confidently predict whoose going to win this, and Medina did deserve a rematch vs Baloyi.

Its not a complete joke, Kelley was very decent last time out.

Now Ray Austin vs Sultan Ibragimov was a joke and they'll probably have to do it again. Imagine Wlad vs Austin or Wlad vs Sultan - complete mismatches..... St Clair (and now Kassen) vs Kelley or Medina is not a complete mismatch, infact I would favour both veterans against either.

If Arthur could get a shot against the winner of Medina-Kelly that would be a fantastic fight for him because it would be 1 - Winnable and 2 - Marketable because both Medina and Kelly are well known over here for their fights with Hamed and Harrison and Ingle.

Oer course, the winner has to do the business vs Kassen (or whatever his name is) first.

But yes, I do agree... good learning fight for Arthur aswell and a decent step before the proper big leagues.

Ibragimov has mandatory status now with the WBO. Great huh
