Sorry guys if I am wrong, but is there an existing UK Referee called Steve Holdsworth or is the boxing commentator refereeing a fight this weekend?
Just look at the guys future opponent.

Hi Stu,
seeing as tickets are being sold by Werner Kastor (German Eurosport commentator) who got into small-hall promoting (including unlicensed) about 5 years ago...... and seeing as Holdsworth and Kastor have been good mates for quite a while now.......... and seeing as Holdsworth has held just about every BBBofC license on offer in the past.....
I'd say it's him!
It may actually give me a reason to phone him up - used to be fairly good chums with the Watford Gap but life moved on a bit.

I know I'll regret asking, but WTF is the Vacant GBC Cruiserweight Title?
Also i see that the referee is the only one scoring this fight, didn't know they did that in Germany.

The Global Boxing Council is German based, established in 1999. It specialises in handing out Youth and Intercontinental titles to German "prospects" from mainly Troja and powerofboxing promotional stables. They have some sort of links with the WBE, although this "link" is baffling to the point where masons can't understand it.
The GBC also offer the cheapest (disclosed) world title sanctioning fees, at an extremely cost-effective 600 euros.
However, becoming a fully blown GBC world champion seems a perplexing process. Zap Gereev is undoubtedly the biggest prospect with links to the GBC, yet is still only a GBC I/C holder, yet Ashley Theoplane of all people is apparently fighting for the prestigious world title.
Finally, an example of the GBC's no-nonsense ratings:
Heavyweight (200 lbs +)
World Champion: vacant

Best bit about this is Steve Holdsworth is always bemoaning the fact there are so many ruling bodies in boxing.
Still i do find him ok.

Looks about right to me, although you could possibly swap number 7 & 8 around. And I think vacant @ No.# 4 is maybe a tad too high.

Yeah but TBC is a Sports Network mainstay, does Warren work with the GBC or will that conflict with his close WBU relationship?
