My pick would be Fitzsimmons but who would the board choose?

Ketchel?
Carter?
McClellan?
Jackson?
Valdez?
Hearns?
Mugabi?

and anyone else I've forgotten or don't even know about....

I would go for Rodrigo Valdez.

Why is it the end of the thread?

Ketchel.

That is very annoying. At least back up your arrogance with an argument.

Bennie Briscoe

Iwas gonna mention Briscoe also Kovit.
Cyclone Hart deserves mention too.
His left hook was real heavy.

It's not even funny, so I'd quit it now.

Maybe I'm not familiar with Langford - tell me why you think he was the hardest middleweight puncher. If you don't answer properly I'll take it you haven't actually got anything to back your claim up.

Hardest punching middleweight in history...Bob Fitzsimmons! Followed by Ketchel, Julian Jackson and Florentino Fernandez.

...maybe he wasn't the hardest ever...but i'm always surprised when sugar ray robinson doesn't appear on these hard punching middleweight lists....and especially when he could still make welter but was beating middies. but even after winning the middleweight crown....when he was already past his prime.....i don't know how many other 160 guys could have one-punched the rugged gene fullmer the way the sugarman did with that left hook.

Julian Jackson for me.

It's not only his KO ratio, but it's the way he poleaxed his opponents.

He decapitated most of his opponents.

The greatest puncher was Stanley Ketchel

The Argentinians Rafael Merentino and the southpaws Eduardo Lausse and Atilio Caraune (a great LH, but he opened is career as Middle): please, see their records; he had canyons in their hands

Of course, what a puncher! And Rocky Rivero, too

So we appear to have clear concensus and the matter should now be considered settled.

May we now have the next difficult question for the board to consider and determine?

Mickey Walker.

Stanley Ketchel

Of the old timers category I pick Stanley Ketchel, Bob Fitzsimmons or Charles "Kid" McCoy

Of the modern era: Marcel Cerdan, Tony Zale or Rocky Graziano

Not sure anyone hit harder than Julian Jackson.

I mean, is it even possible to hit harder than that with a single shot?

It has to be fitz... how many middles were able to knock heavies out cold as well... also Langford, Ketchel, Walker and Mcavoy are up there... Robinson too I think... his power is probably underrated... Jackson and Hearns in the latter day... of them all Fitz takes number one spot for pure one punch power... :box: :box: :box:

Despite his relatively low knockout percentage, Sam
Langford was one of the greatest p4p punchers ever.
Langford started out as a lightweight, but was knocking
out top heavyweights during his incrediable career.
One should also remember that Langford was facing
top competition in many of his bouts and it was
alleged that he "carried" many opponents.

Dear Friends,
look the very high K.O. percentage of Eduardo Lausse (more than 70%) and Rafael Merentino (quasy 80%), both in 60 or more bouts
