I agree its utterly pathetic. Looks like boxing is drifting towards internet viewing which is also a complete shambles. Who in their right mind would sit watching the computer rather than being sprawled over the settee in the living room. Not me.

It looked like Sky had gotten its act together but it has completely ignored the Heavyweights and not showing Pac Man - Morales is just bloody stupid. A big shame its not been shown, still show a good number of fights. Last week I was in Germany next day they showed Klitscko fight and after party show, which inolved chats to both Vitali & Vlad also Boris Becker!

Last time I looked at my bill I wan't paying ITV a subscription fee plus an extra fee for sports channels in the expectation that they would deliver the fights EVERYONE wants to see.

COME ON. Its Pac-Man Vs Morales III. Am I the only one who thinks this fight is slightly more mouthwatering than Taylor-Ouman.
We are talking about two living legends fighting each other for the third time after two brutal wars with it 1 apiece. The undercard is quality as well. You know fine well that more people stateside would buy this on PPV than would pick up the next Taylor fight.

As for Sky showing a lot of fights....isn't that their job? I don't feel greatfull for Sky showing boxing. I expect and demand it. If they don't deliver then I'll save my cash and use it to buy internet feeds. Simple as. Fight fans voicing their disaproval at shit like this has galvanised them into action before. Hopefully it will again.

I know they should show this one poor of them not too., but they cant show every fight from abroad. I watched off dvd purchases before haye fight tonight maskaev v rahman and one of the best fights all year valero v mosquera.

I think what makes it more silly that they are not showing this is that they screened the previous two.
I really see no reason why they can't show most of the big fights. They treat us like children with this 'aren't you lucky' advertising of big overseas fights but thats an attempt to make you forget that YOU are actually paying for it and that Sky are making a bloody fortune from their sports packages.
valero v mosquera by the way I watched on youtube. Brilliant fight though I thought it was a pretty horrendous beating for the Panamanian. Valero really is the business. Shame he has brain damage and can't fight in the states.

In fairness to SKY, we (boxing fans) are a minority. I'm sure there are plenty of people who subscribe to SKY who complain that they don't show enough Cycling/Badminton/Squash/Tug-of-War, etc, etc.

But boxing, whilst still a minority sport for the mainstream, also commands huge money for its main practitioners. You can't expect SKY to shell out huge (in relation to the money they'd pay for 9 ball pool) money for something they'll be showing live at 2 in the morning on a Sunday, not every week.

We as fans might want it, but where is the upside for them? It costs them a shitload less to put some Aussie Rules football on, for example. The Boxing public really isn't big enough to demand every fight, no matter what boards like this might suggest.

Mmmmm.....Boxing Monthly would strongly disagree with you. I remember an article ran earlier in the year. They pointed out that upon several boxing message board communities voicing their disquiet at the lack up big fight action and too much focus on the at times rather pathetic Friday night fair from the Bethnal Green, plus ITV's renewed interest in the sport, Sky had decided to feature more stateside fights in the hope of not losing subscribers.
I'm sorry but cycling,badminton etc could not pull in 2.5 million viewers at 2am on a Sunday morning as did Calzaghe-Lacy.
Pac Man - Morales is one of the BIGGEST fights of the year and they aren't even showing it delayed. Hell they showed a delayed bill of Chazz Witherspoon a couple of months back but this gets no mention. That is unacceptable.
I mean I wouldn't have minded missing PBF-Baldo if we were getting this. This is guaranteed fireworks.
Any fight with Barrera has the potential to be a chess match. PBF-Baldo always had a strong chance of being tame as it was a stylist vs a non-puncher but Manny and Morales only know to fight one way and the previous two have been all out wars. So guess which one they have decided not to go for?

Like Casamayor-Corrales III, people perceive the Pac-Morales rivalry as already having been petered out.

Of course, Morales might surprise everyone.. But seeing him crushed last times makes this less appealing. Like it will probably happen again.

There isn't as much excitement for this bout. There just isn't. & if Pac knocks him out again, that wil merely confirm it.

I'm disappointed that they're not showing it. But are people really just disappointed that they won't see Pac bashing him up, in a one sided fight?

You totally missed my point - ITV are back into showing 'championship' boxing, but because of exclusivity contracts in place we get nothing but SN cards.

If thats acceptable to you then fair enough, but to demand SKY (who yes do charge us to view their channels) to pick up all the other fights isn't going to happen.

Channel 5 haven't shown a big big fight since Holyfield-Moorer II

ITV are very limited. There won't be many more fights like Woods-Johnson 3, which Warren stole away from Fight Academy.

We'll be gettig substandard WBO and WBU stuff. The odd good performance here and there, i.e. Arthur-Palomo, but mostly showcase garbage.

SKY are shite really, they just get the cheapest fights from the States and thats it... to ignore the recent heavyweight fights (except for Holifield vs Bates!!!hahahahahaha!) and the Morales vs Paq fight is unforgivable... I am just this close to canceling my subscription... most of the domestic shows are predictable fodder and the best American fights are seldom shown... and we wonder why boxing is dying...

but we do get fights now and again - just enough to keep me subscribing.

it's just that the omissions are quite dreadful at times.

Lads stop moaning, and start doing stuff, email sky sports, and let them know how u feel, and threaten to cancell your package, PEOPLE POWER
