Hatton to fight Urango in Vegas not saw a thread yet, what dyall think??

Castillo's apparently on the same bill. There'll be a crowd there, don't worry about that.

Not sure how many of them will be there specifically to watch Hatton though. I've no idea how much of a following he has outside of the east coast areas.

I think Hatton will draw a fair crowd, Castillo though as far as I am aware isn't a massive draw is he? I know that Castillo and Corralles rematch didn't do very good PPV numbers anyhow.

It's surprising until you see it with your own eyes, but it's actually pretty hard to draw a crowd to Vegas, the crowds Hatton used to get at the MEN would be considered incredible in Vegas.

Agreed - I was at the first Corales - Castillo fight and there were only about 5000 people there. A third full auditorium for one of the greatest fights in the sport's history.

Problem is in Vegas, for a lot of the people there, they have either been comped a ticket, or it's just something they do to pass the time. How many boxing fans are going to make a trip to Vegas from say New York, or Miami, very few is how many.

Marquez v Pacman was about a third empty when I went, think there was 6000 or so at the MGM grand, and unbelievably, the crowd were booing about 7 rounds in because of the lack of action. You don't get a great crowd at Vegas fights most of the time, unless it's a really huge fight that everyone has heard of.

I should imagine the atmosphere for the DLH v Mayweather fight will be something special.

Maybe my faith in the fans over there is misplaced then. I'd have thought they'd turn out to see Castillo again after the two Corrales fights.

Any idea what the attendance for the rematch was?

Since you are talking about numbers...

Pacquiao-Morales III drew 18,276 the second largest crowd for a boxing match in Thomas & Mack history second only to Julio Cesar Chavez-Hector Camacho. The attendance at Pacquiao-Morales III was also the third largest boxing crowd in the history of boxing in Las Vegas. Larry Holmes-Gerry Cooney holds the record for the largest crowd.

Which only highlights that Hatton's ability to draw a crowd is pretty impressive considering it was around the 18,000-20,000 mark for about 15 fights.

Of course, I am not saying Hatton can draw anything like those numbers away from home, but there are very few fighters who can.

A lot of the UK fans i've been talking to who were gonna skip this one were it to be in Atlanta or Foxwoods are now going just because it's Vegas, so i feel it's a good move from a fans perspective.

Hatton will take quite a few with him to Vegas.
You can get reasonably good deals for a few days there and it is sin city after all!
I fully expect a large contingent of English to follow him out there.
Add Castillo to the bill and it will sell pretty well IMO.

Lets hope they both pull through then face off against each other before Floyd and Oscar do their thing.
If Hatton can beat Urango and Castillo,and look good doing so,all before Floyd/Oscar,it would bode well for a Hatton/Floyd fight.

Hmm, tempted to go to this one now. Although it's in the Paris Casino, and I'm not sure how big the Arena is there, unusual venue for a fight in Vegas.

Ideally, I'd love to see Hatton and Castillo fight in May after this on the undercard of the massive DLH v Mayweather fight, now THAT would be big exposure.

I'll consider going to Vegas for a Hatton fight but not for a fight like this.

Was thinking that myself this morning but I can't see neither Oscar nor Floyd (not that he'd have much say in it) being willing to split the pot. But from a business point of view for DLH, he's much better off trying to showcase his best fighters in good fights to build a following for the future. Is Castillo with GBP?
