Oliver McCall is #1, I don't care to rank the rest.

At HW guys like

Ali
Chuvalo
McCall
Jeffries

are considered to have iron chins.

In a p4p sense then I'd be looking at

La Motta
Hagler
Chavez
Gavilan
Basilio
Sanchez
McCallum
Monzon

McCall not only never KD'd, but never visibly hurt either, that's a special gift.

Wayne McCullough
Ray Robinson
Evander Holyfield
Mathew Saad Muhammed
Thomas Hearns *

If Monzon and Hagler get credit, why not Hopkins and Toney as well?
Because Reggie Johnson sat one on his arse, & Segundo Mercado did the other. If either had fought say, Mcllellan or Julian Jackson & not been floored then you can make an issue, but we lack qualitative data to give them "all time chin" accolades.

If you really want I could go through Ezzard's (quite bazzing) list, but it's a bit obvious, really...

Help me out with "bazzing"...

Wasn't intended as a definitive list. Those guys could be added though how they'd have taken Hearns' right hand, Mugabi's uppercut or sibson's left hook is open to debate.

Don't forget Chuck Wepner...after fighting Liston, he needed something like 218 stitches...I saw him in an interview years after that fight saying that he felt facial bones cracking and crunching every time Liston landed late in the fight...I'd call that a 'good chin'...if you couldn't cut Wepner...you couldn't stop him...

Yep the Durable Dane had a great beard.
Whenever this subject comes up I have to mention Billy Graham.
Solid defensive fighter with a great chin.

Easy one. LA Dodgers catcher Johnny Roseboro. He took two shots to the head from SF Giants pitcher Juan Marichal with a baseball bat and remained standing.

Interesting discussion and one that requires two sets of fighters.
Those in the HW division, who after all were taking the harder punches and also from guys naturally bigger at times and heavier. Then those who took shots from their own weight divisions. I have always claimed that regardless of the weight, a fighters head is much the same from Fly to Heavyweight, so the heavies I feel are taking the bigger bigger risk.

Anyway top heavies are the likes of Ali, Chuvalo, Marciano, Holy, Foreman, Holmes, Mercer and McCall.

Others in the lighter divisions are Hagler, Monzon, Sanchez, McCullough, McGuigan, LaPorte, Toney, Eubnk, Collins, Mickey Ward, Oscar and Ray Leonard

I scrolled through the list a couple of times and didn't see Tex Cobb. He took some good shots from an aged but dangerous Earnie Shavers. He also took alot of punishment from Holmes and survived.

Julio Cesar Chavez took on some hefty hitters and none of them managed to so much as ruffle him let alone put him down

Sugar Ray Robinson deserves a mention.

202 fights, 3 legitimate weight classes, fought until he was 45 & was never KO'd by another human being.
