Alex Arthur has given up the Euro Super feather title, after he was ordered to defend against Antonio Bento, which wouldn't have generated much interest on these shores.

Hopefully Warren can get him a match against Malcolm Klassen for the IBF title, or even Barrera who hasn't got an opponent for 11th March fight.

Klassen yes, Medina (IBF Mandatory) yes, Barrera - pain.
A bit gutted Arthur has vacated the title, but it didn't seem to be heading him to a mandatory shot at one of the big titles.

I hope (no pray) we don't see Arthur going down the WBU route.... but I have a feeling.

Well Barrera would start a huge favourite, but every now and again we have a British fighter that goes up against a Great champion , and catches them at just the right time.

I think that sadly this might be a distinct possibility.

No mention of Valero, or Guzman as possible opposition? Realistically Arthur will have his hands full with any of the champions at this weight. His best bet would be to just tick over for a while, hope that there is a unification match sometime soon and try to pick up the inevitable vacated strap that follows.

Pleeeease no WBU shite! Arthur is better than that. Maybe Klassen for the IBF belt could be a possibility. Glad he isn't accomodating Bento though, he was another Palomo by the looks of it.

FW must have come to an agreement with Klassen's handlers, otherwise it's a bad move by Arthur. He's definitely not gonna be fighting any of the other title holders, so it must be Klassen.

Yes, has to be. Arthur and Warren both know Arthur is capable if winning a world title ie. IBF. Even SN would not drop the EBU title and move Arthur into the WBU path.

After Palomo, Warren said Arthur would probably have another EBU defence and then perhaps a world title shot (with the IBF) in the Summer. They knew then that Bento would be the next EBU opponent, so It's not like their avoiding him (and It's not like there's a different opponent who'd make another EBU fight more of a seller (other than a British opponent.)

Hopefully then, it does mean they're gearing up for a fight with Klassen, for which they'll have to pay. The IBF have slung Arthur down the rankings, and the next IBF eliminator will be Fana v Arrieta, who in any case are presumably behind Medina.

Flip me, Mzonke Fana deserves an eliminator ahead of Arthur
