What about Michael Sprott or would that be too tough for a stay busy? He'd probably get 12 rounds out of it though. Or maybe they could tempt human punchbag Julius Francis.

Or even Krence considering they'd be a lot more closely matched in size.

I hope its another defence of his EBU title. I don't want to see his weight flucuating now so close to a title shot.

I agree with Stu. Haye shouldn't be unnecessarily moving up and down weights, especially so close to a title shot. For my money he should stay at cruiser until that title shot comes around.

Macca, anyone? It's probably the last chance for that fight to be made, and Maccarinelli has just come out and said that he wants it, so why not call his bluff? Depending on what is actually happening with Mormeck (does anyone know), I'd love to see Haye take him on. I think that there's a real chance that Haye will be catching him at the right time if that match could be made. But obviously those matches will be considered far too dangerous at this stage. Virgil Hill would have been absolutely ideal, it's a shame that he's not available.

Out of the names already mentioned, I'd pick Sprott for Haye. Haye has all the tools to beat him, although it's by no means a gimmie. Plus Haye could get away with coming in near the cruiser limit I think.

Why would his weight be any different if he fights at heavyweight? The only difference would be that he wouldnt need to drain himself to make the cruiserweight limit.

Haye steps into the ring well over 200 lbs. Why go thru the process of going down from ~215 to 200 lbs and then go back up to 215lbs when it's just a stay busy fight?

At the WBC conference in croatia Jose Soliman said the fight between Mormeck and Bell must be scheduled for before March. The winner of Haye Fraggo will be the WBC champions next fight after March (be it mormeck or bell) as their bout is a voluntery defence. If Bell cannot fight before March Mormeck and the winner of Haye fraggo will fight for an interim title.

no stu, its happening. a heavyweight bout around march time, i spoke to team haye about it.

haye entered the ring against fraggle rock at 15st 5 i think. why should he boil himself down just to stay busy, all that yo yo weight crap does not do your body much good.

im hoping david comes in somewhere under 16 stone, then it will be a result.

I have no evidence to support me, but I just think a heavyweight fight in March will be not good, say if he is fighting Bell/Mormeck in the summer. His training might not be as intense for the March fight (cause he doesn't have to worry about the weight) and I don't like tune ups at any rate.

I would actually prefer no fight in March and just have a longer camp for the Mormeck/Bell showdown. Focus on getting the weight right for that one, cause its going to be a long fight.

Also, I do worry that a Heavyweight fight might effect his position with the WBC, of late it seems to be any excuse to shaft a mandatory challenge by a brit has been used (e.g. Nicky Cook, how did Injin Chi get back into the equation). A Heavyweight fight could be the ideal opportunity for the WBC to rid Haye of their cruiserweight rankings.

I agree this boiling down cannot be doing Haye any good, question is why is he doing it now?

I thought Mormeck was the mandatory for Bell?

Mormeck is probabaly the mandatory, yet Haye wins a WBC eliminator. Doesn't make 100% sense.

Probably another case of money talks. Bell was down to fight in the now abandoned superfighter malarky wasn't he?

I think a guy called firat arslan should be haye's next fight. He's the WBA mandatory, on good form of late but from what i can remember of his bout with hobson very beatable. In fact i think it says hobson was winning every round until he was tko'ed by a cut.

Not sure about that, Haye's power is very much unproven at Heavyweight and Krence has been in with some big guys.

Anyway who's to say it will be Krence there are plenty of other options out there. Eastern europeans for a start.

My bet is a small and light punching HW import. Krence as honnest as he is record don't look so good to avarage jo any more cos he has lots of losses.

Don't be supprised to see someone brought in from easten Europe and richie Woodall talking about them making these guys tough in the former soviet union and there tricky tecneaque and then remanising in his I used to be a good ametre once.

I think he should carry on beating tough Europeans at cruiserweight. Good experience this EBU belt is giving him.

bell-mormeck 2 is supposed to happen feb, march next year.

i'm starting to wonder if bell is gonna stay at cruiserweight.

Bell has already stated a few times he wants the money fights up at heavy and I wouldn't be surprised to see him scrap a rematch with Mormeck and try and take on a fringe heavyweight contender. Sam was a good choice for Gomez and Bell could do worse
