Anyone see the fight last night on ss1? I thought it was totally out of order when the ref stated to JMM that he was ahead on the scorecards.How did he know this had open scoring been used?
Also on that point,remember when the american ref told Mayweather "it is an honour to ref his fight",do you think that was the right thing to say for nuetral ref?

BTW,I was v impressed with JMM carrying on with such a bad cut.

I may be wrong but i think i read he also said the same thing to Baldomir before the fight?

It was a shocking effort by the referee. Would he have done the same thing if the boxer's roles were reversed, and it was the 'opponent' that had the cut? I'm not so sure.

The ref for the Mayweather fight was Nady. His actions before that fight are just the way he is, sadly. He's an appalling referee, and seems like an arsehole to boot. How he still gets the big fights is beyond me.

Ref was out of order telling Marquez that he was leading on the scorecards.
Fair play to Marquez for ignoring it and carrying on with the fight , mind you , he might not speak english , so wouldn't of understood what the ref said.

Although open scoring wasn't used last night, this shows what can happen during a fight when it will be used, if Marquez was struggling and looking for a way out, all he would have to of done is say to the doctor that he couldn't see , and the fight would have been stopped with him in the lead.

The reason that the ref. knew the score Timmbo is because he collects the score cards from each of the 3 judges and passes them to the supervisor at the end of each round.

The cards are not in a sealed envelope so the ref. can see at a glance what the score is.

But in theory, only the supervisor should officially know the full picture even the individual judges don't know, or at least shouldn't know, how the other 2 have scored each round.

The ref. was way out of order.

The referee was indeed out of order. This sort of thing needs to be stopped.

Was this fight part of the new rules in which a scorecards a public? If not, then he was bang out of order..... and only goes to show that the problems that known scorecards will give.

BTW, good fight and I think Jaca will come again and become a good world champion after Marquez's day. I'd tip him vs Harrison/Cook now.

Really? i thought Jaca was Ok, but Harrison would have done the same job as Marquez.

Also i don't know if Marquez was conserving energy, but he didn't seem as busy as in earlier fights, he seemed a bit off watching it last night.
