Sets him up for a fight against the always dangerous Marcus Beyer, I'd say... :D

Joking aside, that was a somewhat dubious decision. Not sure how Lacy deserved it, although hearing Adam Smith say that HBO had Lacy 2 rounds up going into the 7th (I think) did make me wonder if Tsypko was going to get a raw decision. Lacy was in control for 2 rounds, I felt, but after that Tsypko was rarely bothered. Tsypko should have followed Calzaghe's plan, re: moving to the right after throwing your shots to get out of Lacy's range.... He could have made it easier for himself.

Finkle better wake up quick and learn from how he helped finish Mike Tyson off with his matchmaking.

Lacy don't want to fight Tyspo again or any rangy fighter that can take a punch.

All Lacy does is make excuses, so full of sh!t and don't know what to do when he can't knock his opponant out.

Wasn't spectacular, but it was enough. Injured his shoulder early in the fight. Corner was icing his left shoulder between rounds, didn't throw the left much either.

Considering that Lacy had very few problems with Tsypko in the first fight and beat better guys more impressively.. I'd say his tough night was partly down to the battering he took from Calzaghe, aswell as the injury. Seriously I think his confidence is shot once he gets tagged and all those memories of March 4th come flashing back

Hope the poor guy is not ruined, another David Reid, Don Curry perhaps.

Vitali had an awesome chin mind you. Those right bombs would have knocked out Mundine.

Same old Lacy. He's obviously learnt nothing from the drubbing he recieved from Calzaghe. Still loading up with every shot, and still moving in straight lines with zero head movement. He's another defeat waiting to happen. It's tough to see how he can be matched with a view to winning another title after his last two fights, because everyone will now know that all they have to do is keep it tight for a couple of rounds, and show him a bit of movement, and Lacy will run out of ideas.

I though Tsypko was also a little unlucky with the verdict. It wasn't an outright robbery or anything like that, but I thought that maybe he'd done enough to just edge it. But so many of the middle rounds were close, I couldn't argue too vociferously in favour of one or the other.

Far too one dimensional, Froch beats Lacy by mid round stoppage.

Not sure about that Lacy's looked to have a pretty solid chin so far, haven't seen last nights fight yet.

Tsypko had him on really unsteady legs at one point. It was right at the end of the round though (round eight?). A little lucky for Lacy, he was in trouble, and Tsypko isn't exactly a puncher.

Ah OK that's interesting I did wonder, as I say he chin has looked one of his better assets in the past. Obviously taking all that punishment vs Calzaghe and never really looking close to being KO'd and also he recovered well from a big right hand from Pemberton (I think it was).

Maybe there is some long term effects from the Calzaghe fight, I hope that's not the case.

Lacy is crap, simple as that... just a one dimensional puncher who runs out of ideas when he cant ko his opponent in 3 or 4 rounds... those who tried to compare him with Marvin Hagler a while back should shoot themselves out of shame... :box: :box: :box:

The Brit commentators said Typsko was robbed, I beg to differ - but it was close. Had Lacy winning 1,2,3, and 1-2 of the mid rounds (4-7) and 10. But he looked bad against an average fighter and was close to been put down at 1 stage. I think Froch/Mundine/Kessler/Taylor/Wright among others including maybe Bika would beat Lacy. Calazages performance was still a suberb shut out beating.

It's was Lacy's first fight in 9 months and he was coming off a bad loss. He then hurt his shoulder which didn't help matters, so you can't criticize him to much. He's obviously got a lot of things to prove, but we'll have to wait and see how he get's on.

If you had Lacy winning I dont know what fight you were watching... it was close but Typsko was a clear winner... Lacy did hardly anything in the last few rounds...

On the undercard, Jeff Lacy, who was demolished by Wales' Joe Calzaghe in March, won a controversial split decision over Vitaly Tsypko of the Ukraine
From BBC.
Far too one dimensional, Froch beats Lacy by mid round stoppage.
If Lacy can take hundreds of overwhelming shots then no way will Froch stop him. Froch is one dimensional as well, don't be fooled by his punch like most were with Lacy before Calzaghe.

The first 3 were easy Lacy rounds, the 10th Lacy did a bit more. Are you sayign Lacy didnt win 1 o2 rounds from 4-7? 8-9 were big rounds but Typsko was never really dominating or outworking Lacy he fought on the back foot and looked for counters.

Froch doesn't telegraph his punches like Lacy though. Lacy seems like he takes 2seconds to land the punch from the moment its thrown. Which wouldn't matter so much if he set shots up behind the jab but he doesnt. Froch would probably find it easy to pick Lacy off and land big counters. Lacys defense is really horrible too - hes short, has no head movement what so ever, holds his head up but has a very open guard. Lacys power is also very overated and always has been - hes never layed guys out with 1 punch its always been accumulation.

Froch would probably stop Lacy, Lacys style is made for him...

He did put Reid down past it or not so he has some power.

Froch's shots are telegraphed and his defence is as bad as Lacy's, just Lacy has had his shown on the world scene. Froch's style might suit Lacy more.

Reid was shot when he fought Lacy and Froch is harder to hit because he makes the opponent come to him rather than just walking in to his opponent like Lacy does...

I thought it was a draw or Tsypko edging it. I know who I'd tip in a rematch though, the first couple of rounds it looked like Lacy was just going to walk all over Tsypko. Once, Tsypko found his feet and got into gear, he generally controlled the action.

Calzaghe's reputation went down a bit last night, Tsypko isn't great but futher exposed the limitation of Lacy (who I did think looked smaller and quicker than in the Calzaghe fight)

Lacy-Tsypko I was stopped on a cut before it even got going. Lacy winged a wild hook & his head landed.

He was appalling. After a sharp start he couldn't hack it when Tsypko fought back.

I had Tsypko winning by two rounds. It was a bad decision, IMO. I wish it was a 12 rounder.

Can't believe Smith nor Neily spotted the shoulder injury.

Watching the card again and once Lacy is inside he never throws his left hook instead he throws a right and sweeping right uppercut. He was right hand heavy throughout most of the fight. We would have noticed that had SKY not cut to commercial breaks between rounds.

No it's not. Lacy's style is all wrong for Froch, because Lacy is a pressure fighter. Froch likes his space. He's open for every kind of shot imaginable and the only reason he hasn't been found out yet is because he hasn't fought anyone with any great skill who can punch.

Lacy may have been hyped to the hill, but he's still proven a whole lot more than Froch.

Its obvious there was something wrong with the left, torn shoulder apparently. He didn't throw left hooks most of the fight and had to paw with the jab. Not impressive but he was pretty much fighting one handed.
