John Simpson

Just want to create a thread to offer congratulations to Simpson. Regardless of the way the fight ended, the win was very much merited after the way Simpson was stiffed against Williams.

I do feel a little sorry for Morris though, but hopefully there will be a rubber match between the two. A cracking fight that should have lasted a little longer, but Simpson deserved a touch of luck.

Yeah, I agree.... Simpson was shafted vs Williams and kinda deserves the title. It would have been interesting had the fight continued, Simpson was getting confident (due to the cut).

I felt that Morris may have deserved another round, out of courtesy for the champ, but that cut was very bad and it was early in the fight too, so I wouldn't argue with the ref's decision. Morris isn't a big puncher and I doubt that the fight wouldn't have turned around over the course of the next few rounds. Gutted for Morris but pleased for Simpson.

Cuts that havent stopped fights were worse than that.

Morris should of been more pissed at the ref than Simpson.

Matthews beats them both though. :TU: :box:

Me too. He has always stood out on the shows I have seen him on.

Keane doesn't strike me as a high calibre referee. I remember him giving Barnes the nod over Jimmy Vincent. Nobody thoughnt Barnes won apart from his best mate and his Mother!! (and they even thought it was a draw!!).
