There's a 'show signature' (or something like that) option down the profile, you have to click yes to get it to work

Indeed it is, "The Man in the Arena" speech he delivered. Shame, wanted to get more of it in, but 250 character limit raised it's ugly head. Big boxing fan was Teddy by all accounts, as you can tell by his choice of language. One of my all time favourite 'boxing' quotes.

I believe he was Lightweight champion of Harvard when he studied there, although he did like to exaggerate on occasion.

Just read this wikipedia entry on him, quite a man for all seasons, used to box sparring partners regularly even whilst in office, until he got a detached retina.

When you look at his record too, very progressive for his time, and far better educated and well read than the shit-kicker America has for president currently. Shows just how much politics has been dumbed down that we have gone from well rounded individuals like Roosvelt who had a great deal of interest and knowledge of the world, and who was an intrepid explorer, to Dubya, who has barely left the country and can hardly string a fekking sentence together.

One of America's most interesting Presidents to be sure, you're spot on when you describe his record as "progressive" as he is considered part of the "Progressivist Movement." He made some great social policies, it's just a shame his progessive attitude didn't extend to non whites.

The story I'm always amazed by is the fact that while giving a speech on the election trail he was shot by an anarchist but finished the speech anyway!

He also supposedly could easily get through two books a day, I doubt Bush reads anything without pop-ups.

He was however, the first president to invite a negro to the whitehouse.

The man whom he invited was Booker T Washington, a famous black political activist of his time, a move which it's probably hard to place in it's correct context today, it would have been greeted in Roosvelt's time with as much enthusiasm as inviting Abu Hamza to dinner at the knesset.
