I was just wondering what your take was on the following categories in world boxing:
1. Top 10 fights of the year
2. Top 10 fighters of the year
3. Top 10 knockouts of the year
I ask because I am going to compile all 3 categories and use magazine clippings etc with each particular section to look back on in future years. I have my own opinions but it would be great to get a wider opinion.

2) Calzaghe
3) Clinton Woods
4) Junior Witter
5) Carl Froch
6) David Haye
7) Enzo Maccrinelli
8) Lenny Daws
9) Ricky Hatton
10) Jamie Moore
Honourable Mention - Kevin Anderson.
Fights of the Year (British).
1) Moore v Macklin
2) Anderson vs Mutley
3) Hobson vs Maccrinelli 1.
4) Woods vs Johnson 3
5) Rocky Dean vs Matthew Marsh (I know we only saw half the fight, but that alone was worth it).
6) Corcoran vs Hughes.
7) Froch vs Magee
8) Earl vs Ramonov
9) Morris vs Munroe
10) Earl vs Ramirez
Probably missed a host of non tv fights and forgot loads. Mutley vs Jennings was another beauty.
I won't do KO of the year, I cannot remember that many memorable ones domestically.... Though Barker vs Samuels is probably the best.

1. Calzaghe v Lacy
2. De La Hoya v Mayorga
3. Pacquiao v Morales 3
How are those fights of the year? They may have been your favorite results, but none of them were at all close, and before you get going that Hagler/Hearns was only 3 rounds, they were 2.5 extremely competitive rounds, Pac/Morales was anything but that.
1. Sithchatchawal/Monshipour
2. Moore/Macklin
3. Adamek/Briggs II

Good calls Salaco...i started watching Mayol V Kyowa yesterday morning! Can't wait to see the finish. Heard Valero-Mosquera was a war as well, not seen it though.
Add Moore-Macklin to that above list and i totally agree. Monshipour-Sithchatchawal was awesome too. Good year

yeah, check out the Valero fight, its worth it, it is good for the first 3-4 rounds and becomes an ass-kicking thereafter....there've been better or more even fights....hernandez-escalante comes to mind, or cherry - santa cruz, but they're not world class....I wasn't too bothered about macklin-moore as both of them are scrubs IMO...

Granted they weren't close results, but just because they weren't close doesn't mean they weren't good fights.
Calzaghe proved how good a fighter he was in the Lacy fight. He wasn't favoured by everyone and boxed rings around Lacy.
Oscar De La Hoya came back with a decent win and Morales/Pacquiao fight was a good ending to the trilogy.
I rated more on the fact they were important fights rather than as in the fight itself necessarily.
But i know where your coming from and in terms of actual fights there were probably some better ones out there.
