Danny Williams is still mandatory challenger to Scott Gammer even after his loss last weekend.

Also Chris Edwards and Dale Robinson are set to clash again for the British title and also Billy Corcoran and Sean Hughes will go again but this time for the English title at featherweight

What a joke. Have they even been in touch with Williams to ask if he'll still take the fight?

I really hope Danny retires now. He may fancy one last tilt at a windmill against Gammer, but I see him him getting hammered now. I don't want to see Danny get brutalised again, it was unpleasant watching him getting spattered all over the ring by Audley, Danny's a nice guy, I'm sure nobody wants to see him hurt.

Hopefully his dad agrees he should retire like he was saying after defeat.

I don't think Williams is as shot as he looked against Harrison, and I think it is right he retains his mandatory position. It is his choice if he wants to take the fight.

He has a Lonsdale belt outright anyway, he doesn't need the Gammer fight.

He doesn't need it, but if he can beat Gammer and regain the British title, then he can be back in the mix domestically and European wise.

I agree, saving a show at a weeks notice shouldn't really be taken into account.... Bit like the Ali Nuumbembe situation.

However, I think the BBBoC should be aware that it is clear Danny wants no involvement of the title. Also, I think Gammer should be now allowed to have a voluntary. Danny cannot (suspension, cuts) be ready for January, and I believe Gammer thought the fight would happen in January.

Why wasn't Edwards vs Robinson for the British title anyway, bit of a waste of time that. It wasn't a meaningless 4 rounder Edwards won. He stoped Robinson in a schedule 10 rounder.

You mean Sean Hughes don't you Kev (vs Corcoran). Cannot understand why this is scheduled.... Corcoran hasn't fought at Feather for a long time (Super Bantam/or Super Featherweight). I think there are more worthy canditates at Feather..... Munroe, Dean, Marsh, Foster Jnr etc.

Some other fights from your report caught my eye.

Why has Dean Francis been stripped of English title? Why isn't Norton installed as Mandatory for the British (as he was when Hobson was champ).

How many more fecking eliminators does Alan Bosworth have to fight before he is deemed worthy, and why Ashley Theophane... good prospect, but not done enough to warrant an eliminator - not at that weight.

McDermmot vs Rhodes could be a good one.

Power vs Napa II

Johansson vs Burns

Haymer vs Amer Khan.

Looking forward to all 4 of these alot..... I hope they get signed.

Oh come on, its obvious from his last two fights that Williams has little left, his offensive ability has become almost nonexistent and against Harrison his defense looked shot as well... if he carries on form here he's pushing his luck and is going to get hurt... he's taken enough punishment in his career and now is the time to stop before he gets damaged...

Does anyone here think Danny would fare any better if he had been away in a training camp under lock & key with Jimmy Mac a la the Tyson fight? I'm wondering whether he might have performed better away for a full camp where diet & fitness could have been all under control plus a proper strategy worked out as well. Danny didn't know what the hell he was doing from the moment he left his corner at the start of the first round. It was like watching a novice have his first bout!

It might be that he just doesn't want to do it anymore.

Are you sure Williams doesn't want the Gammer fight?

I think he is moving down to Light Heavyweight so he dropped the Cruiserweight title.

I think your last line sums it up.

But yes, I think had Danny had an 8 week training regime he would have faired better. Whether the result would have changed would have depended on how he trained. He claimed he did lock himself away for the Skelton rematch and came out heavy, with no leg speed/footwork and no stamina.

He needs to drop the weights (expect for leg weights and neckwork - strengthen that punch resistance). Run, Bag work, bag work, bag work, and run. He needs to be around the 17 stone and looking fast and fit. Then he would have won I have no doubt.

I do think the reason why he was hurt so easily this time was because of the lack of preperation, but he's been training wrong before the Tyson fight. He is way too heavy. I thought Klitchsko would have taught him, but it didn't.

I know it was only Keith Long, but when beat him he looked as good as any Heavyweight out there currently. If ITV can hype Harrison's performance as "World class", then Danny's performance vs Long match it.

What was Danny doing sitting throughout the ring introductions, he looked knackered then.

Danny's told me he's ineffective at 18st - he feels 19st is his best weight - which I believe he weighed for the Tyson contest.

Do u remember the fight before the second Skelton match? Well, I think physically he looked good - big but strong, and not big in the massive sense - just a good proportion of weight & strength on him. He seemed focused and genuinely looking forward to Skelton.

I think someone had told him to use creatine after that and that just bulked him up and slowed him up against Matt.

I don't want to criticise, but I think Danny should watch his old fights and than see what weight he was at his best.

He want through an excellent patch of form about 4-5 years back, with performances that ecclipse the Tyson one. His weight ranged from 234 (Long) to 254... Not 265 (Tyson), and in the two 280's (Skelton II).

Francis II, Meehan, Shawn Robinson, Long, - those were his best performances. Of course he looked in great physical shape cut to the bone when he beat Michael Murray (235). He even looked quicker at 245 vs Mivrovic.

When he gets to the mid 250's + he starts to look poor.... Samil Sam, Sprott II, Klitchsko, Skelton 1 and 2, Harrison 1 and 2 etc. I thought Danny looked poor in his fight between the Skelton debarcles. It doesn't seem to give him extra punch resistance (the only time he has been hurt in his career was when he was plus 255), all it does is slow him down. He looked horrible against that guy untill he hurt him. No workrate and looked vulnerable.

Dany should be 255 max.

Horse, Danny doesn't want to fight anymore. He effectively announced his retirement. If he wanted Gammer, he would have been in camp and not accepted the Harrison fight.

How many times has Danny postponed this fight... He pulled out for religious reasons last time, but it was okay to fight Harrison.
