Well, if it's anywhere as good as the first volume ....... it should be well worth buying.

I tend to over look the new boxing titles in my search for the old titles, but I shall make a point of getting the two titles you have mentioned.
The Sundowners title looks the more interesting at first look, and 656pages seems an absolute bargain.
Report back when I get a copy ...and read it

I asked the same question (the lulu site was asking almost $60 for standard delivery), and got the answer yes, in the next month or two.

just got my copy of Kevin's new book yesterday (The Sundowners: The History of the Black Prizefighter 1870-1930 Volume II Part One). Although I've only had time to read a little bit of it so far, picking the sections on big George Godfrey, Battling Gahee, George "Kid" Cotton, and Jeff Clarke for example, I found those sections extremely informative and interesting to read, especially the one about Godfrey. Great stuff, I highly recommend this book!
