So,according to Gammers man,Harrison means nothing and is'nt a contender,yet Danny Williams is still a viable opponent in the future???

Never thought I would see the day when a heavyweight was running scared of Audley!!!!
Would have thought it would have been a great fight for Gammer.
Would gain him some exposure,and finally give him a much needed step up in class.

Apparently Gammer's manager has plans for him to fight in America.

In addition I think Gammer's manager has took exception to the fact that Audley Harrison and Fwank Warren have basically announced that Audley's next fight will be for the British title in February - without having actually approached the British Champion.

If nothing else, Gammer's manager is showing Warren that he shouldnt be so arrogant and presumptious.

Yes, but Gammer's camp go on to say they are looking at Michael Sprott, who probably brings as much to the table in terms of REAL credibility and lets be honest, Sprott won't have any problems travelling to Wales to take the fight. Will Audley ?

Gammer's camp are making the most of the British title and who can blame them? Audley certainly makes a meal of anything he achieves in the pro ranks.

And who`s to say that Scott simply doesn`t want to make the voluntary defences so to keep his Lonsdale for keeps first...he wouldn`t be the first

Gammer should take the £100k, he'd be in with a real chance against Harrison and a big payday.

If Frank is offering £100 grand, as he says, then Gammer's team should take his arm off. Let's face it, Audley is still Audley; i.e. Doubted by the boxing public, theoretically hugely talented, possibly ripe for defeat, but also well known. Where is there a better fight for Gammer? I give him a decent chance of winning. And even if he doesn't, where else is Scott going to make any dosh? Don't tell me there's that much money to be had fighting in Camarthen, or however you spell it. If Gammers team have some amazing plan which involves bypassing the well-known British fighters, then all power to them. But I really don't know how they plan to garner more money and exposure than this opportunity.

Gammer has only just got himself headlining on Sky, I would have thought he'd jump at the chance to fight Audley, at Wembley, live on ITV on a bill with Amir Khan. We all slag off Khan and Audley but they're the ones who bring the press exposure and if Gammer can beat Audley and look good in doing so then he is in a much much better position than just defending against Sprott and Williams at home for peanuts.

Remember how Alex Garcia & his team turned down big pay days v Foreman and Bowe, then got himself chinned by journeyman Mike Dixon for peanuts?

Maybe Gammer should ask Garcia for advice? He was last seen hustling tickets at big fights trying to scrape a living...

I saw Gammer live against Suren Kalachyan last year.I think I'am right in saying he got dropped that night by the Armenian.
He certainly did'nt impress.
The only other time I see him was in against Gammer on TV,and to be honest I did'nt see a heavyweight on the verge of big things.
If the 100k is real,then I beleive they are mad for turning it down.
Especially when they talk about lining up Sprott.He would'nt bring much to the table,and he certainly has a great chance of beating Gammer IMO.

I'm pretty sure the fight will go ahead - Gammer and his team are holding out for more money that's all, and so they should :)

Think Twinkle Toes might be right. However, Gammer has bad memories of going to London and of Warren shows. Without wanting to sound a twat, I realized Gammer was worth a profile in Boxing Monthly a while back. Extract:

A big left from the visitor had Gammer crashing to the canvas in his own corner early in the fight. He got up and managed to sneak home by a point over the six rounds distance. Boyce seems to forget that Danny Williams, Harrison, Skelton and Sprott are all Warren fighters and it only takes for Williams to step aside and Audley will instantly be made the Mandatory and Purse offers will be called for.

If purse offers are indeed called for does Boyce really think he will see anything like £100k? He'd be lucky to get half of that, very lucky.

Gammer may have the belt but Warren controls all the contenders for it so Gammer will have to do business sooner or later or give up the belt and go back into obscurity.

Boyce is doing a serious dis-service to his man and it's on the brink of imcompitance IMO.

Good post, I was there and saw that one. He missed the chance of a fortune through his management supposedly being smart. Gammer is mad not taking this. There comes a point where you have to back your own ability, and this is it. He must take Harrison. By the way, I am hearing that Sprott could face Harrison, never mind Gammer.

Apparently, he has he bought a load of lottery tickets for the xmas rollover.

100K, plus the chance to fight a BIG name on prime time terrestrial TV and make a name for himself. It seems stupid not to take the fight, a win rockets his worth through the roof and even a loss gets his name well known and lands 100K in his pocket.

I'd love to here Scotts take on the situation

It seems a strange decision, I hope for Gammer's sake that his manager is just holding out for more money, because if he turns this fight down, I think he'll live to regret it.

If he fights and beats Audley, he's a household name, simple as, and 100k is not to be sniffed at whatever way you look at it.

I'd like to hear Gammer's thoughts as well. If Boyce has got a better offer out there, then he's the greatest manager in boxing. I see no downside in Warren's offer.
