Im 32 and have no amateur record. Could I possibly start now, do amateur for a bit then go pro or is it too late? Also I have laser corrected vision. I have only sparred and trained.

depends entirely upon what you expect to get out of it.
mind you these days you could probably win a "world title" in six months

Skelton was 37, sure he was an MMA fighter but anything is
possible in life. You might not be up there with the young hotshots
and because you have no pedigree you will have no promoter backing you and thus no protection and will be an 'opponent' for 6 round prospects, but give it a go! What weight would you be fighting at?

Depends on your ability, weight, background and determination.

If you have lived healthy and haven't had that much boxing background, so not much wear and tear, then you should be considered a young 32. If you are a big lad then you will probably have I would say 4-5 good years left in you (if you haven't had a tough life). Most Olympians who go on to become great pro's do so usually before the next Olympics. Although obviously they are pretty damn good and experienced in the fight game long before their Olympic truimph.

If you are smaller it might be a bit more difficult, but again not impossible. Age is a barrier but shouldn't be the reason why you won't make a go of it. Ability is the biggest barrier.

Julius Francis didn't box untill he was 28 - he'd go on to fight for the European title and face Mike Tyson.

I agree with Stu, if you are a heavyweight you can start whenever you want really. Especially if you have lived a clean life.

Making weight terminates a lot of fighters careers also heavyweight fighters don't tend to go the distance or set hard paces in their fights. If you are a heavyweight 32 isn't a bad age as you will be physically mature. Again it depends on what your lifestyle habits are.

If the lower weights wern't so stubborn to move up in weight a little as they get older, then they'd last longer too.

They surely must know the body naturally moves up with age when it gets denser.

Still chasing that British title? Good on you I say and give it a go.

I'd go for it if its something which you really want to do, otherwise in the future you may look back and wonder what you could have done. Depending on your ambitions and ability you could even turn pro maybe without any Amutuer fights, though it'd be a better idea to have some Amuteur fights to start with I'd say... but I certainly wouldnt say that 32 is too old, especially these days when fighters are fighting less and going on quite often into their late 30s and early 40s...

You could also use Bonecrusher Smith as inspiration, turned Pro at 28 with almost no amateur experience, fought Larry Holmes for the World Heavyweight title 3 years later and became a champ a further 2 years on!

Im approx 5feet 9 /10 and 10 stone so id probably be a lightweight. Got a feeling my nose could get broken though, but the glory would be worth it. I wonder what percentage of boxers get their nose broken? Probably have realistic chance at welsh champs but to go further would be a dream. When I look at Colin Lynes , I think Maybe I could do better (in my mind) but when you actually try its a different matter.

Absolutely, I find it totally incomprehendible what kind of no-mark a person must actually be to make a hobby out of logging on to forums for the sole purpose of being rude to people and venting some sort of pent-up aggression that is obviously missing in their 'real' life.
