Please talk about the fight without mentioning the WBU, Alexander just got done in the first by the French journeyman and he's still their champion. joke

Dave,
He has in fact been stripped but you're right - what's the point if he's then allowed to fight for the vacant title.
Everything agreed at the Rhodes end but not signed sealed etc at the Alexander end.

Warren's Boxing Union strikes again. I honestly think it may qualify as the very most worthless belt in all of boxing (outside of perhaps the WBS. Who? Exactly.)

Appreciate what you are saying but ignore the sanctioning body this is still a good match up.
It is a domestic match up and should be seen for what it is.
At least Rhodes isn't ducking the match ups - just a pity they didn't happen a few years ago.

two good fighters. Rhodes, when focused, is a very skilful fighter. I'd probably lean towards Rhodes.
I'd like Rhodes to take on Blundell, just to prove that it wasn't the real Rhodes the first time they met.

I suppose that nobody will be picking a points win one way or the other.
I'll go for Rhodes too, but with Wayne's punch it's not my most confident pick ever. Rhodes is the least vulnerable of the two, I guess that is what it's going to come down to, because actual boxing won't matter that much when one punch could turn the fight either way at any time.

If Wayne comes in switched on with the ignorant attitude he has against certain opposition like Takaloo amd Farnell (even though they never met) then he KTFO Rhodes.
Wayne needs to start the trash talking and make this into a grudge match.

Oh come one, good fight but why oh why the title.
The title was on the line when Alexander lost - thats why the bill was dupped "World" Championship boxing.
So has the French guy been stripped for winning?

It was a non title fight.

Title or not its a decent fight that should have happened five years ago but better late then never if Rhodes can make 11 stone

At this stage of their careers, I lean toward Rhodes. I think they are both on the slide but Rhodes's fight against Lockett showed me he still has a bit more left.

if the rhodes that fought lockett turns up, then ryan wins convincingly..
if the alexander that fought simon turns up (wayne boxed well that night) then wayne will KO rhodes easily....
the alexander that fought takaloo will get beaten too, wayne boxed crap that night and was getting schooled but then landed the bomb. i think that ryan would be too smart to get caught like that if he is schooling wayne.
i think its a great match up though, two 'names' fighting, guaranteed to make good tv viewing.....
bring it on.
