AA's world title options

Arthur will fight at the York Hall on March 17th, in what is currently a non-title fight (since he does not currently hold any titles.)
He has three fights left on his contract with SN, one of which (alledgedly) must be a world title fight. How world title fight is defined I don't know, but lets hope it doesn't include the WBU.
Anyway, he is currently #3 with the WBC, WBA and WBO. Ironically, he is only #11 with the IBF (I think he was dropped in the rankings for failing to agree in an eliminator some months ago.) Klassen has been picked out at the weakest champions. Considering the other three, I'd have to agree.
However, there may be a number of alternatives for Arthur. In all the rankings where he is 3rd, Pacquio is rated above him. He is slated as fighting Chi in April, who is unranked. MAB fights JMM in March. Could be a simple thing whereby the winner of that fights the winner of Pac-Chi, with the likelyhood MAB-Pac II, which, barring injury, would be late Summer at the earliest.
If Arthur was to bide his time with the WBC, and the fights above panned out something like that, then we could be looking at Arthur-Soto in a bog standard eliminator (although Soto has already fought in an eliminator.)
With the WBA, assuming Pac is out of the way, an Arthur-Honmo eliminator would look likely, whilst with the WBO, an eliminator with Georgian Koba Gogoladze would seem the alternative.
With the IBF, it would seem like Frank would have to fork out to bring Klassen over here in the Summer. I'd think Klassen may have to fight a mandatory next, but whether that's Fana, or whether Fana and Medina have to have a final eliminator, I don't know.
Any opinions?

The World Title Fight will be the last fight and I BET you any money he has to sign a NEW CONTRACT if he wins the Title.

Of course, you'd think so. But there's the little matter of Guzman, and I don't think he's going to budge. Better the IBF for Klassen, or the WBC in the hope that MAB might vacate.

I don't understand these situations in Boxing, like why Arthur's world title shot seems further away now than ever. Why is Medina constantly being recycled for "world" title shots all the time or eliminators, is it because he is a name/safe world level option? Anyway...Klassen i have not seen fight but is seen by many as the weakest link of all the champions. An eliminator with Soto is muted but i presume this is Humberto Soto? If i was Allegedly i would keep Arthur the heck away from Soto (and if i know Alegedly well enough i expect he will do) as judging by his performance against Ivan Valle and Rocky Juarez records are definately deceptive, this guy is world class alright.
Maybe Arthur will go the WBO route and box off with the Georgian. More than likely none of the above, WBU here we come.

Klassen turned down Arthur. The "weakest champ" wants to prove himself against the likes of Pac and Barrera.
Klassen got turned down by Pac, who faces Chi next. Klassen makes his 1st defence against countryman Mzonke Fana, as a result.
At any rate, Arthur isn't highly rated by the IBF, and as far as their champ is concerned he can go stuff himself.
Warren was careful with what he said after AA-Palomo. He didn't commit to anything, and said something like "I want to make sure Arthur gets a title that he can defend for a LONG TIME"
ooooeeeerrrrr sounds familiar

I can see a WBU title on the way.

Warren always comes up with the same thing after every fight "We will sit down and talk about it and see what we come up with", what is the frigging point in ITV asking him when he comes up with the same tired rhetoric everytime.
At least after Froch beat Dodson, Hennessy was interviewed and offered some names and scenarios (Bute in a WBC eliminator etc). Fair enough we haven't really got anywhere since but at least it's easier on the ears than the "let's discuss the money, sit down round a big table..." blah blah

I don't fancy his chances against Guzman. He'd get slaughtered.

I think Valero could be the beatable champ. Okay, Edwin showed he has the goods in a drawn out fight, vs a fine boxer. But he's not had many rounds and there must be a lot of holes in his boxing. He looked pretty open against Mosquera, though he showed toughness to go with the power.
But with his head injuries, I doubt British TV will go anywhere near it, and it's doubtful they'd let him fight over here.
Arthur is no Calzaghe or Hatton. And there's no way he can even sit on a title in this shit hot division, because ALL the champs are good.

Klassen was the only genuine option for Arthur. I can't seem him doing anything but take a beating against any of the other top men at Superfeather. A move to lightweight might be the best long term option especially with Graham Earl sitting at #1 in the WBO lightweight rankings... maybe an interrim title fight between AA and Earl (with Freitas' future up in the air).

Any chance of seeing Soliman and this guy in the ring together? It makes for interesting theoretical in my opinion. What do you think the outcome might be?

No chance...there's a 30lb+ difference between the two.
AA = Alex Arthur

Come on Arthur was knocked out by Gomez, Valero would take him to the cleaners. Valero in 1-2 rounds.

The word out of SA is that Klassen was sensational in his last fight. I don't know if Arthur would even beat Klassen.

Quite. If there's one punch Arthur has always been open to, it's the left hook. From what I've seen of Valero, you really don't want to let him hit you with that shot. Or indeed any shot. I'd confidently back Valero to finish off the Amazing one early.

Yeah, but you'd still rate his chances as better than against the other 3 champions (and that doesn't include Pacman). I tell you Earl/AA for the WBO Lightweight title in the summer... you heard it here first.

Too right.
If Frank works his nuts off delivering the shot to a fighter he has already paid very well over the years, it is reasonable for him to expect a further comittment from that fighter.
Alex Arthur is my favourite british boxer, I'd love to see him win a big four title. He is capable of doing it.
Arthur reminds me in many ways of a young Graham Brett (who also posts on here and was managed by FW in the early days).
I has a drink and some tapas with Graham last night. He must be about 43 now but weighs no more than 145 lbs and is a 6'0" former lightweight.
Wheras i'm a 34 year old former welter of 5'8" and 200lbs.
It makes you sick, doesent it.

please no - I hope you are wrong but I am now cynical enough to believe this leap of imagination!

And It took a load of shots for Gomez to knock him out. Valero throws a good straight, but that KO streak won't last for long.

Max, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that Valero hits a wee bit harder than Michael Gomez.

Yeah and Arthur has a good chin.
It took alot for Gomez shots to put him down and Arthur is a much better fighter now.

I still think Valero would hammer Arthur. Alex gets hit with too many shots, and no matter what faults Edwin has, the bloke can clearly punch.

Has Valero had his chin tested too?
Arthur can bang too and has a height advantage over most Super Feathers.
