HATTON-URANGO and Castillo-Ngoudo Scorecards

Were all wrong. Ricky got beat up in the last 4 rounds and lost an earlier round. I had him winning 115-113 but it was close and a disapointing Ruiz style jab and grab display.
Castillo I had losing 7-5 or 8-4, yes he landed cleaner but he hardly threw any leather and Ngoudo outworked him and outsped him.
Ngoudo and Urangos stock has gone through the roof off the back off this.

Hatton 115-113?
Damn that's some bad scoring right there.
Castillo winning 115-113 was a good score.

first off all i thought hatton boxed the way we thought he would for the first 8 rounds , hatton is strong but i think he noticed that urango was much stronger than him , the body shots slowed hatton and he got lazy and very tired , his lifestyle caught up with him tonight , hes been off for 9 months and for 6 of them has went crazy with food and drink.
now if i was hatton i would take the rest of january off along with february , start training in the first week in march as this would give him a 12-13 week training camp for castillio but more importantly only 5-6 off
i scored the fight 117-112 to hatton or 8-3-1 in rounds
the castillo fight was very close and i felt that castillo was one paced but pulled the fight out of the bag in the last 2 rounds for a 115-113 win ot 7-5 in rounds
after tonight though i think castillos chances have improved as hatton look very tired but castillo one pace could harm him
any thoughts?

Firstly, I don't know why the Sky panel were surprised that Ricky was instigating so many clinches, don't they remember the fight with Ben Tackie? Stronger fighters are always going to leave Hatton with no choice but to employ these tactics.
It's a real shame because for the first 4 rounds against Urango we saw Ricky demonstrating just how big the skill gap was. He was spoiling at times but in flashes he was stepping around, to the side, moving in and out effortlessly, all things that the elite fighters can do all night. Shoot me down but it's a lack of stamina that stopped Ricky having a virtually clinch free fight here, he clearly had the boxing ability to dance around Urango and contain him from start to finish. Instead of that he has struggled to convince for the 2nd time in a row versus a second-tier belt holder.
Ricky Hatton does not have the fitness to back up his boxing skill and I don't see how he can beat Castillo in a 12 round fight without stinking the venue out.

If you deducted a point from Hatton for every 10 obvious holds he put on Urango, he would have been deducted 30 points.
I scored it 114-84 for Urango
Hatton can go to hell.
Hopkins, Wlad, and now Hatton
Why would you hold 30 times per round when you haven't even been hurt ?
then they all say " boxing is hit, and dont' be hit . "
I agree with that..........but I don't see the word hold in that sentence.
HBO can have that lame azz Ricky Hatton......pathetic

almost unwatchable in the last few rounds.
That's the pride of England ! lol
aren't the stars of boxing suppossed to represent the best of boxing ?
That was the most pathetic finish since Trinidad/Oscar.

Did you give the last 4 to Urango?
I forgot to mention, Ricky won the contest but Urango won the war. ricky was hurt a plenty of times but Urango never was.

I had Hatton by 116-112, I thought he looked bad in the late rounds and with a ref that takes points for holding could be in trouble against some better opponents.

Hatton was holding all the time in the second half of the fight.
Hatton didn't like the body shots at all.
I can't believe Urango didn't carry on going to the body after he so obviously hurt Hatton in the 6th.

I was disappointed too, but come on, this post about taking points is pathetic mate.

I was shocked that Hatton was on fumes after the body shots. One thing went wrong and he had nothing.
If we have to plonk down £15 every time he fights, Hatton should bother to keep himself in reasonable shape because there's no way I'm paying for that again.
Is Hatton-Castillo the superfight no one wants? Both looked listless.

Hattons past it, his lifestyle and inactivity has caught up with him, three years ago he would have beaten Urango comfortably, Castillo looks to be shot as well but I still see him beating Hatton, who is getting worse with every fight now... the next decent fighter Ricky fights will beat him... Urango was strong but thats it, otherwise hes a very ordinary onedimensional fighter, who is barely world class except for his toughness...

I can see how PN scored the Hatton fight as he did, I didn't. I had it 10-2, but the last 3 rounds were close. I cannot see though how Urango didn't get 2 rounds by the judges. For me the 5th and the 9th were the most clearest rounds of the fight.
Castillo vs Ngoudo was close. I thought it was a draw or a one/two point win for Castillo. Ngoudo could be the next decent champion in this lacklusture devision. He looks very strong and very good. A little bit more experience pacing the fight and he would have won quite clearly. Colin Lynes is so lucky that fight never came off.

Its a joke to charge £15 for that, lucky for me I watched it at a friends, Ricky cant fight 12 hard rounds anymore... his staminas gone... if Castillo can find anything close to his form for their fight then I see Hatton getting stopped...

I had Castillo winning 7-5 quite clearly. It was lacklustre but quite disciplined and he seemed to know what he was doing down the stretch.
I can't see Ngoudjo beating Witter, Hatton, Harris.
It's an interesting division, IMO, with Mbaye, Kotelnik, Torres, Arnoutis

It was great value - on paper. Two cards, 2 world title fights, a top domestic matchup & Castillo to boot.
But there was so much filler, adverts, and obviously we were all waiting for Hatton-Urango, which proved to be anything but the thrilling style matchup.

I think everyone is being overly critical. I thought it was a very entertaining night of boxing, worth the £15 (I didn't actually pay for it as Kevo got it in his but I supplied beer).
I enjoyed the hatton fight. Ricky boxed well the first couple of rounds but after taking the huge bodyshots he had to be smart. The later rounds he was obviously too tired to be able to box and keep urango at a distance like the earlier rounds so the clinching came in. Thats just survival.
That didn't even come close to a Ruiz hugfest.

When have you ever seen Ruiz box like hatton did in the early rounds? He looked superb the first few rounds. It was an intense match. When has a Ruiz fight been like that. Never thats when. Ruiz bores the whole fight, hatton didn't do that, just a few rounds.

On second viewing I'd say 10-2 was possible for the Hatton fight. Hatton took the Mayweather/Ruiz role all the same. Hatton won but Urango hurt Hatton more than Hatton hurt Urango
I'm beggining to wonder if Tyszu didnt just have a really bad night while while Hatton had a great night
I also think Urango doesn't get due credit. He may be the P4P strongest fighter, great chin, awesome power, hes a 140lb Tuaman. And thats coming from 1 of Hattons sternest critics

Oh come on, Urango is even more ordinary than Collazo... Ricky fights these guys and people think they are better than they are, ...the truth is Ricky isnt as good as he's made out to be, nor as good as he used to be... its obvious now that he is on the wane physically, the stamina and sharpness isnt there anymore, Urango should have been made for him... to say he's one of the best p4p like some have is just laughable really...

Only that Mayweather is fit enough to maintain his excellence for the whole 12 rounds. If he can outbox an opponent in the first round then you know he will be outboxing him in the 12th. Standard. Only the huge gulf in physical strength between himself and Oscar De La Hoya can put his usual script for success under threat.
Hatton looked excellent at the start, a completely different league of skill to Urango, but he faded before we'd even reached halfway. I don't want to hear any mention of the duracell bunny from here on.
Not saying Ricky couldn't beat Castillo, but the guaranteed punch and grab tactics by Hatton are going to sour a big occasion for sure.
