Best fighter from your home town?

Who's the best fighter from your hometown past and present?
The best current fighter from my home town of Plymouth, UK is former Britsh and Commonwealth champ Scott Dann.

The best ever Plymouth fighter IMO is top MW/LHW contender Len Harvey, who was from a village a few miles outside, but fought out of Plymouth for the early part of his career.

Luther McCarty was the best that my town ever had. Being the best of the 'white hopes'. Kinda ironic considering he was part Native American.
The only guy I know of who boxes from my town now is a guy who was a kickboxer who trained with Scott Sheely (2x challenger for MMA title) and now trains down at Aaron Pryor's gym in Cincinatti. I forget what his name is atm but I think he fights at Light Heavyweight.

From Córdoba, they are famous
Gustavo Ballas and
Santos "Falucho" Laciar,
but the best of all may be
Raúl Rodríguez, Argentinian and South American Middleweight Champion

I was born in Dublin, so I guess Steve Collins would probably be reckoned to be the best in terms of what he achieved. Brendan Ingle would rank highly in the wider sense from his work as a trainer.
Current.... looks like Bernard Dunne, though I personally don't rate him that highly.
My favourite fighter - as opposed to the best - was a relative unknown called Gus Farrell. He was a brilliant amateur in the 1960s but never really made it as a pro...but he was something to see in the unpaid ranks.
I also knew Fred Teidt quite well...he did well at the 56 Olympics.

I would have to say Danny Green is the only good fighter to come from Perth.

from Scotland to Canada my home town was Toronto,
George Chuvalo, I went to school & hung about with (as kids) Nicky Furlano
Toronto produced a few more I'm sure just can't think off the top...from there went west to Vancouver = McClarnin
and back home here in UK the Leamington 'licker' Randolph Turpin.

Hadn't heard of this guy before, looking at his record he had a pretty unique nickname "Yakima's Ghost of Joe Gans."

Pete Rademacher also spent some time in Yakima, and is seen by locals as being from Yakima, though most of his development was in Tacoma as an amateur. Joe Hipp was the most recent relevant fighter to come from Yakima.

I agree Sibbo was always value for money, strong as an ox that guy was. I've met a few people who knew him in his fighting days and they all said he was a great bloke, really friendly and down to earth.

Aye
I remember when John Collins from Chicago here was tossed in with him.
I had a feeling Sibbo was gonna walk through him and he did.
Tony was a real good fighter.

Sibsons biggest weakness was he liked his food too much. In his own words "I could never walk past my fridge without taking something out to eat"
I've heard Sibbo did well from his ring earnings and the building trade and a few years ago moved down to the south coast, the last I heard he was happy and healthy.
