Pleased for Secondsout, nice to see them making a proper go of it while exclusive rights to big shows. However, not pleased for me - I definately need to tape the big US fights in case I doze off - so I guess it will be trader time.

Any chance Secondsout can secure a Subscription based TV channel on like the Sky network.

If you can address the quality issues of watching sporting events via Internet streaming technologies then well done for being pioneers and good luck to you.

I've been down this route with football though, even paid for streaming sites aren't a patch on the TV, if you maximise the stream to full screen it's crap, the best resolution is to watch on a window the size of about an 8th of your total desktop which also isn't really ideal.

A bold move and good luck with it but for me the technology isnt yet ready for this platform..

Still, if positive feedback comes from the first showing I will be more interested.

Anything that gives us an alternative to the sometimes useless SKY boxing is good news - hope it works and you pick up fights like Cotto/Margarito and the Valeros & Guzmans.

These Wlad fights will still be shown on German TV though, right?

I think I'll be signing up (once I get my sodding phone line sorted) this is great news for boxing fans, it's early days yet, but this is a great move along the road to being able to pick and choose your content, and not having to shell out a fortune to Sky to get whatever content they choose to pick up.

Very true this is beyond a joke now and is it any wonder people are turning off boxing in their droves when you have to pay to see any significant fights.

Having to pay to see duddy fight at this stage of his career is an absolute disgrace no matter what way you dress it up.

A good move for boxing would be to screen it live on terrestrial television, available to millions, not screen it on a website.

What about the millions of potential boxing fans likes my old man and his mates, guys who love boxing but are in their 50s and dont even own a computer, let alone know how to operate one.

Maybe it'll work out well in the future. But right now it's like the difference between seeing a film in the cinema OR having a top quality DVD, as opposed to seeing a ropey pirate copy that some dodgy twat of fa market stall has tried to pass off. Yes, the availability is there but it all seems to substandard.

How much Is Seconds out paying Klitschko to give them a hit and hug fest?

There simply are not enough available TV slots to satisfy boxing fans. How on earth are you going the schedule international boxing with the paltry number of slots available on prime time terrestrial TV? There's what, maybe 30 slots available on ITV1 throughout the year? How are you going to show all the international action, as well as fights featuring out best domestic fighters in that small allocation, it just cannot be done.

Pay to play is the way forward, you pay for content which matches more directly what you want to see, it's good for the promoters because it is targetting an audience directly, rather than something which comes as part of a sports package.

It will I think result eventually in a drop in the price of PPV fights as well. You're not paying for the bloated structure of something like Sky, and all the hands that are taking their cut before it gets to your screen.

One question ANT? What has happened to that organisation 'on demand' didn't they have a monopoly on the distribution of the content to the various providers previously, I seem to recall this is what was preventing the .TV internet entities broadcasting content directly?

Couldn't sky try to compete with seconds out too and just buy the rights from the Klitschko's K2 promotions?

Why not screen Klitchkos last fight for free, as a taster. If the technology is as good as you and Rob Waterman are saying, after a sample the public will flock to sign up

I guess the problem with that is that you cannot prove that a LIVE feed would look like that, sending a pre recorded file isn't the same.

If a trial was offered that allowed you to see one fight for free to trial the technology and then the password expires after that session. How about that then?

Anyone remember that channel dedicated to that crap singer (who never made it) - it was on the music section of the sky guide. It was her boyfriend who bought it all, Obviously well off but I don't think he was a millionaire.
