Well done Carl. He's a no bullshit fighter who does it where it counts. What an amazing workrate, and some real quality body shots. I thought he would have his work cut out with Ricky, but it was a thoroughly deserved win. Great to see the old Town Hall banged out as well.

sky didn't show the first 4 rds.
he just outpunched watson and had him wincing from the bodyshots a few times.
watson had fewkes a little hurt in the last minute.
too little too late though.

no.
i think khan would repeat his result in amateurs.
probably pts though.

Yes, I think Khan would KO Watson also - far too quick. I'd make him a heavy favourite vs Fewekes. Who I do like but not sure if he could handle Khan's workrate.

Ive watched Fewky's career with some interest over the years under Glyn's guideance, and I really rate him.
However it's way too early to talk of Khan as an opponent.
Being hyper critical, I wish John would ease off on the showboating.
It nearly cost him in the 7th ? ( think it was ) and I think he missed a chance to stop the fight in the 5th when he had Watson stuggling with a cracking body shot, but for some reason didn't sustain the attack.

I've liked Carl for a long time, great all action fighter and excellent attitude in there, I think he would beat Arthur...

didn't rate Fewkes last night to be honest, first time i'd seen him.
i agree there was too much showboating and not enough punching.
looks like he's got some nice moves but also looked like he didn't know what to do with a (pretty limited) southpaw.
And Watson had him going in the last round.
Obviously a ticket seller though so will be around for a while

Johanneson v Arthur is another great match up, that will probably not happen because of politics.
Both boxers are not afraid to face each other, and Arthur will be spending his time with bullshit mark time fights, whilst waiting for a title shot.
This fight could be big, if the promoters are willing to put it on. Set it up for the summer. PLEASE

JOhanneson reminds me of Michael Brodie in some ways - will give his all, but against a top class opponent will get a beating.
Apparently there is talk of Brodie making a comeback? Anyone heard this?
