If this is proven, he could be looking at some jail time. Three years of housing benefit and income support, is a hell of a lot of cash. They tend to come down pretty heavily on benefit fraud when the amount of money involved is large.

You would have to be thick as a ghurka's foreskin to be claiming social security at the same time as taking part in fights the majority of which have been televised.

If they are guilty, I hope they throw the book at them. There are enough genuine cases who need social welfare without people on the take

Do you know something we don't about Ghurka's?

I suspect that it's not that simple. Seeing as it is both of them, then I wonder whether it isn't the case, that his missus was claiming the money, and Tak was claiming that they didn't live together so she could claim independently, hence they were both defrauding the benefits system.

I wonder if the WBU will strip him if he is found guilty. After all they don't want the organisation to be brought into disrepute.

I didnt think the WBU had any repute to start with!.... they should be up on charges of putting on fraudulant 'world title fights' ....Theres a thought, Tak a 'world champion' ....Floyd Mayweather must be shaking in his boots... Tak vs Magee was barely British title material...

Wait if Tak is stripped there may be a WBU title opportunity coming up soon. I ate too much at Christmas and have no basic boxing training...hmm might try for a shot.

They don't put real criminals in prison these days so I doubt they'll get any realtime and they shouldn't. Should tony Blair get put away for defrauding the British people with all the lavish spending he does with our public money for his personal fringe benefits? So what if they make a few quid our taxes are pissed away left right and centre anyway.

If found guilty, I suspect Takaloo will be looking at some jail time. As you say, they do come down hard in cases such as benefit fraud. Anything to do with the goverment, tax, VAT etc, you're in bug trouble.

However, murder or physical abuse cases do not seem to have the same high punishment. It amazes me.

Its a bit of a difficult one... unlike the Keith Jones scenerio. But isn't the rule like (having never claimed dole, despite probably being eligable on a few occasions) that if you work less than 16 hours a week you are eligable for some benefits.

Surely someone who only works 1 hour every six months (or so) is eligable for benefits.... even if its Morally wrong.

Earnings come into it too.

Bloody hell it looks like he's in a whole lot of trouble. He had a few bill topping WBU title fights during that time too. Earnings will almost certainly come into it. I don't know what he was getting paid but it almost certainly would have exceeded the allowable thresholds I would have thought.

Wrong wrong wrong.

I saw a programme on TV last year, about people who had unexpectedly gone to jail. There was this woman who had been paralysed from the waist down in a car accident. She couldn't work as a result, and so she fiddled the system by claiming housing benefit, which she illegally claimed to pay off her mortgage. This went on for two years, and when they found out, the slung her in prison for 2 1/2 years! Quite frankly, I think that's pretty disgusting treatment, as the poor cow didn't know what else to do.

Fraud against the government and the exchequer tends to be taken pretty seriously, especially if you cannot pay back the money you owe.

There's an ENORMOUS amount of money which is being robbed from the taxpayer due to fraudulent claims, I don't mind people skimming a bit here and there if they are on a low income and genuinely trying to make ends meet, but someone who is earning more in one fight, than I get in a year's wages, certainly isn't going to have my sympathies.

It sounds like Takaloo was doing a Hamza (the crooked hand mulsim extremist), whereby Takaloo and his Mrs 'split' up and she claimed all sorts of benfits, when in fact they were still together.

Hamza and his Mrs also 'split' up, she kept on living at the six bedroom house at our expense while he got a council flat , in that time while they had split up they produced about four more children, and also he sold his council flat for a £180,000 profit.

Luckily its all being claimed back by the govt as he claimed legal fees and was investigated.

In fifteen years of working since leaving Uni, I've only just moved into a house with ,my wife, makes you wonder doesn't it.

Tony Blair wants fornicating up for several reasons.

However, benefit fraudsters are vermin, by and large.

Why the hell should I work to support scumbags?

My own personal maxim is "Decent benefits for those that need them, nothing for those who don't."

He'll also have to pay the money back, if convicted.

I dont know how much they were netting him, but I wonder if Takaloo was declaring his supplement advertsiement earnings when drawing benefit?

It doesnt paint him in a very good light to be fair.

He has made his home in Britain and has been given the chance to improve his lot, but it would seem that greed has driven him to make some bad decisions, assuming the allegations prove to be true, of course.

I don't understand why there have been numerous reports of peodfiles, GBH not getting prison time because prisons are full and then we hear about someone signing on when they werent elidgable getting time.

It would surely be legal for a boxer to claim benefits if he went in to sign off and came back in after the fight to sign back on claiming he'd spent all the money he'd made. Not sure if

We seem to live in a society today where everyones after scamming public money from politicians, to car insurance scammers, benefit fraudsters make up a tiny percent of this scamming but Takaloo sounds like he may have took the piss a bit.
