Someone once said on this forum that; "Styles Make Fights"...

Well, in this thread I'm gonna look at two "extremist" styles...

1. The Slugger/Brawler... (Who goes into a fight, not only to win it...But to KO his opposition).

2. The Flyer/jabber...(Who goes into a fight to win it, but also to entertain the audience).

To look at these styles, I MUST lookat the best of the best therefore, I will have 4 examples of each...

BRAWLERS: Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano, Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson...

FLYERS: Gene Tunney, Ezzard Charles, Muhammad Ali, Floyd Patterson...

BUT WHICH STYLE IS BETTER???

Well, in my opinion the sluggers have a better style...While it is more unorthodux I believe, if perfected, it is the BEST!

the best sluggers.... put down Ali + Tunney and properly KO'd Patterson & Charles (and they were the best of their game)...

"No one style is stronger than another style. Fighters make fights. Of course, a swarmer-puncher would beat almost anyone, someone with a weird, awkward style might beat him, but what "styles make fights" really means is that even though one fighter is better than another fighter, the other fighter might have the perfect style to beat him"....

So then who (in your opinion) would have a good style to beat;

Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Jack Johnson & Lennox Lewis?
