Rowlands got a gift of a decision that night form London ref Richie Davies, thaxton had Rowlands all over the place and would have KOd rowlands if the fight had continued.
Credit to Thaxton, the politics in the game affect everyone, fortunately for him, Jono had the tenacity to rise above it and his persistence paid off,he is now the British Champ.

Still turns my stomach how Thaxton got fcuked by the system.

The ref let Hatton fight for 11 and 1/2 rounds with his face hanging off versus Thaxton when any other fighter would have been stopped.
Then poor Thaxton on the verge of a knockout with a cut on his forehead which would cause no long term damage gets stoppped.....

I was so happy when he finally won the british title.....

Bernard Paul scored one of the KO's of 1995 against Jason, i don't think i've ever heard a crowd go so silent.
Jason was unbeaten in 19 fights with 13 Ko's going into the fight, and the 1st round against Paul was pretty uneventful, then just as the bell rang to end the round, Paul threw a right hand that had Rowland out before he hit the floor.
