Best Fights Youv'e Been To see

I must say the fighter i wanted to see was Tommy Hearns, and got to see him on a show in Sheffield, great fighter, however he was slow and past his best. Would have loved to see him in the 80's against the likes of Duran and Hagler.
The most exciting to me was Eubank v/s Wharton. I was amongst a few thousand Yorkshire lads who thought Wharton had won. When i watched the fight on TV it was a different story. Its funny how fights are different live and on TV.

Gotta be Carl Thompson against Sebastien Rothmann, followed by Manny Pacquaio v Marquez for that comeback.

I didn't think anything would ever beat being at the first MAB v Morales fight, but to be at Vegas and Castillo v Corales on my stag night with my twelve closest mates will be impossible to top. Half of them had never been to a live fight before. Afterwards, we were virtually speechless...
Well for about 2 minutes and then the mother of all nights out ensued....

Nigel Benn vs Chris Eubank 1
Nigel Benn vs Chris Eubank 2
Scott Harrison vs Wayne McCullough.
I was honoured to be ringside for the all the above fights, all were very entertaing with amazing atmosphers. But the first Benn - Eubank fight was in a class of it's own.
I've also seen some tremedous non -TV small hall fights over the years.such as in Telford 1992.
Peter Buckley W KO10 Brian Robb BBBofC Midlands Area Super Featherweight Title
It was a terrific scrap when Buckley turned up and really wanted to win, and did.
I seem to recall that all the fights that night were quality entertainment.

You must have been one or two to the left of me then. Macklins (rather fit) sister was directly behind me, then the lads who were a bit worse for wear were to the left of her.

Brodie v Chi I was a hell of a fight, christ but both men took some serious lumps that night. Brodie looked like he fallen face first out of a first floor window. Chi was just so tough. Brodie was absolutely hammering him to the body for about 40 seconds in one round, until he actually punched himself out, Chi looked hurt badly, but as soon as Brodie stopped punching, guess what, back comes Chi and starts lamping him with those massive overhand rights.
I miss writing fight reports on stuff like that. So exciting.

McCullough Vs Johnny Bredahl (Atmosphere at the Kings Hall for McCulloughs first WBC defence was amazing!
)
Harrison McCullough (Tough and hard for Wayne, fired up atmosphere in Scotland!)
Hatton Tszyu (What can I say! The Best Live Event I have attended)
Calzaghe Lacy (What a performance, a masterclass to see live)
Also Enjoyed Enzo Vs Garry Delaney on the Calzaghe undercard in when I was in Wales, that was good live with Delaney down 7 times
Takaloo Vs Jim Rock was a good watch live as well, brutal KO from Tak that night.

That is a tasty list, Hawk. McCullough vs. Bredahl has been getting repeated for years now on C5 and it probably has as much to do with the atmosphere as an on-fire Wayne. Hell, that's really the main reason I always try and catch it these days... really comes across through the screen!

On a more domestic level, the one i'm fond of is Gary Logan v Hussein Osman I . Both men were tremendous that afternoon.
Mark Potter v Osborne Mashimane was a great small hall punch up too.
Shame neither of them were televised.

McGuigen v Pedroza - 25,000 at Loftus road was an amazing night - I think just about everyone in the UK knew that fight was taking place.
And Benn/Logan at the Albert Hall was an unbelievable win by the red hot Dark Destroyer.
Benn was seconds from oblivion before finding a miracle punch from nowhere.

Got the pleasure of seeing Farnell beaten by Ruben, also by Wayne Elcock too.
One of the best scraps I have witnessed was Tony Mulholland-Jamie McKeever I at Everton park Sports Centre. McKeever's fights are always exciting so I like watching him, he even made it a bit of a war with Dariusz Snarski at the Olympia.
I'm attending the March 10 Liverpool Olympia bill and i'm hoping for a few good ones on that.
