Why is allegedly always saying the winner of so and so gets a world title shot at heavyweight.....he's been saying this for ages.It seems he no longer has any pull in getting world title fights.

I'm surprised that Warren hasn't been trying harder to get some of the former east europeon heavies to sign for him, they seem to be all heading for german promoters.
The only heavies he manages are John McDermott and Danny Williams , so i can't see either getting onto the world stage.

Its not happening is it.

Incidently, anyone there at ringside see his face When Harrison went "timber".

Never saw his face on TV, his arms went out sideways in a "What the feck has happend" moment. The guy who always sits next to him (sorry, don't know his name... is it boxingchat?) was very open mouthed.

One has the feeling he wasn't jumping for joy and throwing left hooks when Audley went down this time.

Skelton was equally gutted, you could tell in the post fight interview ITV did with him, was probably thinking how is another fight with Sprott going to get me a world title shot.

On a similar note, did anyone else notice in the first round of the Earl/Katsidis fight, Kahn's Dad seemed to be support Katsidis? Maybe he'd put Amir's purse on the Aussie :D

Frank said in the Guardian that making world title shots is easy, it's just making them at the right time. This was in regards to Amir Khan by the way wanting to be a champ so soon. Read into that whatever way you wish.

All this talk of HW title shots yet Warren turned down a shot at Maskaev for Skelton  On the subject of Skelton, anyone know why he's been out for almost 8 months? Not like he has time on his side.

He hurt his hand when he was preparing to face Harrison, that's why Williams stepped in at late notice.

He says it was a training injury. Tabloid reports agree, except that they say he was training by pummelling some bloke who was banging his missus.

Would Lewis work with Mr Warren ? more to the point would Lewis come back now, did you see how fat he is in that tv adv. :TU: :box: :box: :o :o

This absolutely makes my blood boil.

What lvlarc says is true - Warren has been talking about world title shots since the first Skelton-Williams fight. And then when he gets one he turns it down. ffs. There is also no way that Skelton-Sprott II can be turned into an eliminator of any kind. Sprott probably won't make the top 15 next month despite the Audrey win.

I'd be quite surprised if the Ibragimov camp made no approaches to any of the Brit heavies for the interim title fight.

None of the UK heavies are capable of winning a world title.

Right now Sprott and Skelton are the best of Britain, yet Sprott was slightly outclassed by Chagaev.

I hope Chagaev can beat Valuev, because Chagaev's one of the few heavies to have some skill and workrate.

Yeah Chagaev is decent alright, beat Ruiz fair and square. Would like to see him do well at world level, hopefully his tame, none showing against the dire Virchis was just because the two were friends and sparring partners etc
