I heard some good and bad thing about Kell Brook.. From what I read, Kell Brook has good skill but lack of motive; he is lazy to train well in the gym according to allegedly.

Can Kell Brook beat Murry and Khan?

Im not being baised but Kell is a great talent. Hes not lazy! he's very motivated and trains hard. I think he can beat Murray and Khan but I dont think he will ever fight Khan. Warren wont allow it. :TU:

Well I'd definitely f**k her. Though i thought when she dumped Jason Statham for that yank it was a bit strong. Why is she on a boxing site?

he was 151 lbs in his last fight, 152 three fights before. In his last 13 fights he has made welter 5 times, light welter once, and the rest have been between 147 and 154

Kell Brook may have weighed above the 10'7 limit for certain non-title fights against journeymen but he is most definitely a welter, possibly even get back down to light-welter.

he even boxed at lightweight in his last bout for the ingles.

even when he's weighed a bit heavier it's not exactly like he's fat - he's just developed into a really strong kid. check out some photos of him, he looks absolutely ripped at 10'7.

and for what it's worth, he's an infinitely more gifted boxer than murray, for my money, and also a better prospect than amir (IMHO). that said, whether he will deliver on that potential is a moot point.

he'll never fight either of those two though. much bigger than murray and too big / too dangerous for Amir. many people speculated at the time that FW signed Brook specfically to keep him tied up and out of amir's path.

People also speculated that Frank ended up lettting him go because he wouldn't stop eating.

Would the real Kell Brook please stand up? Personally, I've never seen him in action. Living as I do, in British boxing's black hole, I'm going to have to travel to catch a proper glimpse of him. I've heard so much about him, and I have to say I'm not sure. If he was that good, why did Warren let him go? Frank has his critics, but he's not got a a bad nose for talent.

Kell looks strong as an ox at 10.7.

Seems people are interested/talking about him anyway.

Not many stop David Kirk.

He's got plenty of time on his hands and I think he'd beat Doherty, who is v small for a welter and seems to have made little progress IMO.

he's definitely still with FW and coldwell, though there were rumours around about a year ago - when he was really struggling with his weight - that FW might bump him off.

this is the reason why he's being stepped up now. first Young, then Doherty, then Jennings / Takaloo. no more soft fights coz FW seems to think he gets complacent and hits the biscuits.

Ive not seen much of Brooks pro career but i do know when i boxed in the Junior ABA's a couple of years ago he amazed me with the ease he beat a quality fighter like John Fewkes who's going ok himself in the pro ranks, so the pedigree's there for definate.

Ah, that may be where I've got the wrong end of the stick from then.

i honestly think that if kell had stayed with the ingles he could have POTENTIALLY (big word) been a world champion. i missed him box fewkes in the amateurs but i've got friends who did and said the same thing.

he's very gifted and skilled but as things stand, i doubt he'll ever get beyond britsh title level. he's treading water and FW seems to have absolutely no interest in him.

genuinely hope i'm proved wrong tho. nice (but easily lead) kid, massive talent.

Good assessment there Hot Tub Man#1. I have seen Kell fight both as an amateur and a pro. I saw one of his last fights as an amateur when he won the Four Nations championship as a lightweight.

Even then he appeared to have the punching power of at least a light middleweight, quite awsome really. As a welter the power seems to have increased.

To be fair to FW though, it is possible that FW has been allowing him to develop, he is not 21 until May this year. FW did match him against Doherty to be fair but Doherty was K.O'd in the first round by a VCR so Kell missed out on his first opportunity to prove himself against a well known name.

Personally I am waiting for April 7th in Cardiff when he meets Gary Young before I pass judgement, that should give us a better idea of his potential.

I agree that it is highly unlikely that he will ever face Amir Khan, there are 2 divisions separating them at present and I would guess that Kell will probably move through at least 1 and probably 2 more divisions before he reaches 30.

I take your point but the question has to be asked, if he had stayed with the Ingles and IF, and only if, he had been pushed too quickly to world championship level would it have been such a good move? I suspect that the Ingles would not have rushed things, they are a first class outfit and a very experienced camp and certainly wouldn't take any unnecessary risks with a boxer's development.

FW will certainly have to move him along this year though and put some decent opposition up for Kell to be tested against. In my opinion he is more than ready for it and I doubt that he will have any really serious problems with anyone in his weight division on the domestic scene at present.
